Political Opinions / Re: Video on Obama
« on: June 17, 2008, 02:03:11 PM »
Please post your objections here.  I'm interested.

Basically I said to him that this is a video obviously directed towards conservatives.  That you could do the same thing on McCain (obviously with different content) and send it out to a lot of liberals and you would get the same thing.  I also said how much I hate how big of a deal his name is.  It's just a name.  It doesn't represent what he believes.

Now with the church is definitely a black mark on the guy and I know that.  But he did leave the church, and I wouldn't be surprised if his pastor was using Obama's publicity as a way to spout off his own politics.

I am an independent and I hate to see stuff like this.  Basically why I don't like getting involved in politics most of the time.  It's just too much BS about people that one side believes as truth when the exact same thing is happening on the other side.  I support Obama in these elections because I think he is the lesser of the two evils.  He at least represents change to me compared to McCain wanting the same things to continue.  However now the person who sent this to me marks me as a liberal and was actually kind of offensive when he sent me the video.  Just ticks me off.  I like the policies the game claims he wants to uphold.  I don't care about his religion, his name, his parents religion, or what somebody decides to hang in Houston.

Oh and it's not unpatriotic to not have your hand over your heart.  That is only for the pledge and many other leaders have not placed hand on heart during the anthem.  Also I think putting the flag on a pin is just as bad as putting on underwear.

Also I have yet to see Iron Man  :-(

"I saw my grandma's vagina."

The ep was alright.  Not the best I've seen, but that line definitely stuck out.

I don't agree with the video and actually responded to the person who sent this to me with a very long email on what I didn't like about it.  Just wanted to get some discussion going in this forum and see what everyone else thinks.  I hope I don't cause any blood shed.

Wait if it's all white people, it can't be about race.  Hmmm . . .

Oil, it's about oil.  They want the corn to die and stop the e80.  That's it.

Nice having Of Montreal on your list.

Also glad to see that somebody else watches the Big Bang Theory.  I thought I was alone in that.

Welcome.

Hell, I'd be happy with an hour at a time.  Instead we get twenty-minutes of past, 20 minutes of present and 20 minutes of future and it's up to us piece it together.

I think they use this method because if they were to show it without the flash-forwards/flash-backs, the "story line" wouldn't be sufficient to hold our interest.

I am huge fan of the show and agree with this completely.  I think the plot is alright and interesting at times to find out what's really going on, but I wouldn't watch it just for that.  It was the back stories that really got me with the show and kept me watching.  I think that the back stories are really interesting, and it's nice to see what happens when they get off the island (although flashbacks are still better).  Now they have their hooks in me though and I have to keep watching until I find out what's going on.

Ugh I can't stand those kinds of people.  I have no love for religion, but these people make up a minority of true Christians.  I was raised in the church and never came into contact with people like this.  I wish people like this would have found a cult that likes koolaid.

Didn't take a look at the official site for the preview.  I'm now going to have to do this.

Definitely an amazing show to look into while most shows are on break.

Anyone else excited for this show to start up again.  Can't wait to see what happens now that so much has changed in the show.  I'm thinking Pittsburgh.

They left way too much open in the season finale to even think of a direction they could go from here.

A buddy of mine told me about the movie, and let me know the "surprise" ending.  Found it leaked on the internet.  I wasn't impressed with what I heard.  Don't think I'll be spending two hours on this.

I don't really have an opinion on this subject.  I can see right and wrong in both sides of the argument.  I'm more concerned with the f'd up things humans do to other humans.  That really creeps me out.  As far as animals out of site out of mind I guess.

I never make to do lists.  I always plan on doing nothing and just kinda end up doing whatever comes up.  Now that I finally have regular hours (m-f) again for the first time in two years I'll get to see some of my friends that have had weekends for a while.

If you're broke with a kid on the way, should you be spending time at work?

No overtime available.  I'm off til tomorrow cause they moved my shift.  I guess broke isn't the word, more like minimal disposable income.

Looks good to me.

Convinced to see it by the guy in a neck brace saying, "Thug life," while cocking the shot gun.

Are you a Living Eek?
or a Livin' Geek?

Definitely Livin' Geek, but Living Eek does open up some interesting possibilities.

What kind of hosting company?  I'm head tardherder at a hosting company myself.

A big one.  We sell domains and hosting as well as products that are developed in house.

According to our legal department, we aren't supposed to say the company without putting a disclaimer.  Our disclaimer goes a little something like:

Any comments made by this person dos not reflect the beliefs of GoDaddy.com.  This user does not act as a representative of our company when making statements on open forums.

(Waits for somebody to yell for bad experience with said company)

Sticky Stuff (no pun intended) / Re: What are you reading?
« on: June 11, 2008, 02:36:34 AM »
Right now I am reading the second book in "The First Law" series.  It's called "Before They Are Hanged".  Very good read.  Trying to read it slow cause I still can't get a straight answer as to whether or not the third book is out yet or not.
