looking for something for my boyfriend, something not too cliche... no vid games, he already spends all his time on IGN when he's not gaming (i hate it, but accept it), and no clothes, he's got all the nerd shirts there are.  any suggestions?

What about nosehair clippers?  Most geeks can appreciate a good nosehair clipper.  Personally, there are easily dozens of things from here that I wouldn't mind receiving as a gift.  There are all price ranges there, as well, from the cheap, to the oh-my-god-I'd-better-insure-that-shipment level.

My ex was uber into comics and I knew of 2 he needed to complete this one set so I was going to get him that and an Eagles tee shirt or something.  But turns out he's an asshat and is thus out of the picture. 

So yeah, they make comic books for pretty much everything these days.  You can get a graphic novel (or really if you look at some of them it's more like "graphic pamphlet") for nearly any cult tv show.  There's my $.02.
