geek challenge
« on: June 29, 2007, 02:32:14 PM »

Hi all I work for an electronics distributor that is sponsoring a very cool global environmental design challenge that is open to anyone over 18, anywhere in the world. Called Live EDGE--Electronic Design for the Global Environment--it asks for designs utilizing electronic components that will positively impact the environment to be submitted. The winner gets $50K in cash plus $50K in support to help move the design towards production. All IP rights are retained by winners/entrants. There are also 5 honorable mentions who get $5,000 each. Judging will be by an international panel.  Register and get all the details at www.iliveontheedgebybeinganasshatinzeforums.com

As cool as that sounds, and don't get me wrong I do think it's a cool idea, you should really post an introduction post (though I doubt you'll ever read this now anyway).

You don't reallllly win money, you just get an email of a picture of what the check might look like if you actually got one.

Oh yeah, and they get to use every design you submit free for life. Because it's not theirs. And you can't do shit about it.

I'm thinking he really meant 18 inches long. If that's the case, count me in, guy!
