Geek Music
« on: April 05, 2008, 12:52:02 PM »

Hey, guys!

I wanted to let you know that I decided to collect geek music and post it weekly on my geeky blog in "Musical Geek Friday" category.
I also explained the ideas in the songs.

I have already posted two songs:
1) Crypto, about a cracker trying to crack encrypted messages
2) Leech Access is Coming at You, about a lamer trying to gain leech access to some guy's warez ftp server.

Update: Three songs now:

3) Code Monkey, about a so-called "code monkey" programmer - a programmer who's either not good at coding, or codes just for the money and not fun.

Update: Four songs now :-):

4) Model-View-Controller Song, about the MVC design pattern in software engineering.

Update: Five songs now:

5) God Wrote in Lisp (The Eternal Flame), about a question which language God used to create the world.

Update: Six songs now:

6) The Day the Routers Died, about the day the IPv4 address space filled up and the internet died.

Update: Seven songs now:

7) Just One More Hack, about writing a debugger.

Update: Eight songs now:

8 ) The Bill Gates Song, about the geekiest and smartest person on the world.

Update: Eight songs now:

9) The Free Software Song, Richard Stallman's song about hackers.

Each post includes an embedded flash music player, so you can listen to the song, a downloadable mp3 and lyrics!

Have fun! :)

PS. if you enjoy the music, i suggest you subscribe to my RSS feed to get receive new posts automatically! :)

I'm going to leave your post despite the fact that it's spam.  I'm doing this because I've used your site for info for over a year, now.  You're quite the smart bugger.  You'd make a welcome addition around here, if you decided to stick around.

For the record, I found your site when I was looking for something along the lines of http://www.picurls.com/ -- Thanks for your contributions to the web.

Wow, nice to know that you are reading my blog :)

Thanks for leaving my post! I did not mean to be a spammer, just wanted to let all other geeks know about that geek music :)

The Geekery Chronicles: Chapter One

Darkness was setting in fast on the once brightened streets. The members of the elite morombie fighting team had dispersed to enjoy at least one day off from fighting the undead idiots of the world. But there was to be no peace or rest for the champions of intellect.

I found it as I returned to the headquarters to check on the locks, never quite certain that things were safe, perhaps as a side effect of a sordid youth. Its shapeless, faceless form shadowed the alley and it spoke with the same distorted tone as did all the morombies. I reached quickly for some way to defend myself, but alas! I had left my weapon in the car! All I could do now was hope that I wasn't alone.

Perhaps Dark Shade was still lurking in the shadows as he usually did. Or 12AX7, who rarely left the headquarters, seeing human life as dull and uninteresting, was still inside and would hear the exchange. Maybe, Detta would return early.

All I could was stand there, and hope...

That was brilliant!  :-D +1

Usually, a spam post gets you banninated; but not before we make fun of you. Wunderkind just isn't a moderator as are BizB and I. So that was a most eloquent, intellectual way to say "SPAM. Make an intro post, dont complain about your urls being edited out, and bring the funny; or you're outta here."
But since BizB has given you a pass, don't worry about it; just enjoy it, as it is a brilliant little piece.

When the morombie approached me everything turned ice cold, I could smell his stinking breath and saw his distorted face under his hood (yes, stolen from Stupid Sexy Flanders) but then I saw the head of our squad approaching the morombie from behind. I will be alive !

He patted the morombie on the back and mumbled some kind words into the morombie's ear. I was in shock !

Turns out that te morombie can have some potential if fed the right way ;-)

My writing skills are way below yours wunderkind but that was an excellent piece +1 and another in an hour

Thank you jeee! I had to go somewhere at that moment and couldn't keep going, but that was exactly the direction I wanted to take it after BizB posted.

Oh and since you've been identified as human and not any form of afor mentioned idiocy (undead or otherwise), welcome pkrumins. Hopefully we'll get to know more about you soon.  :-D

Split off into a topic of its own.  Looks like I only missed one that should have been moved - Dark Shade's +1 comment.   Go forth and do stuff.

Interesting choices so far, Mr. Krummins - why don't you head on over to our new guy thread and post an intro? Your About page on your website leaves me with some questions about you. In particular, I'm curious what you know about canned meat smuggling, but we'll talk about that later. See you OVER THERE?
