You know what really grinds my gears?

People who use the elevator to go up or down a single fucking floor.
Jesus people, you can't walk 5 yards to the stairwell and use 16 steps? It's usually faster too since you don't have to wait for the elevator.

In my new building I can take the stairs to the 4th floor and get there at the same time as the fatties who take the elevator.

This reminds me... in the old building, there were only 2 floors, but there was an elevator so you could take heavy stuff between floors.

BUT THERE WERE TWO BUTTONS!

Do you really need a first floor button and a 2nd floor button when there's nowhere else to go?

Cherubim is plural; Genesis 3:24 specifies one flaming sword. Presumably flaming swords were in short supply."

Well, given the modular construction of elevators, it's cheaper to the manufacturer and the customer to just install an off-the-shelf elevator with two buttons for the floors rather than design, build, and install a separate two-floor only model.

I always tell myself that the people who ride the elevator for just one floor are suffering from some malady that I can't see at first glance, but prevents them from taking the stairs.

We would all like to think that, but most of the time that isn't the case. I'll walk up 5 flights of stairs before thinking of taking an elevator. Maybe when I hit 85-years-old I'll think about taking an elevator for just one flight.

I have a bad knee so I take the elevator where I work when I am going more than just 1 floor (like if I'm on the 2nd floor and I need to go down to the basement or vise versa) but I take the stairs if I'm just going from 1 floor to the next.

I worked for years in construction, standing, walking, squatting, etc, all day; usually 6 10-hour days. Then I went to work for a hospital system, and was an avid user of the stairs, mainly because it was quicker. Up and down all day I went; the main hospital having eight floors and a mezzanine.
I'm only 39 years old now, and my hips sometimes feel like they're about 139. Stairs are good; just don't overdo it.

I had a bad knee once. Tore my ACL playing football on senior night of all nights.

They gave me an elevator key for the school which only had three levels. Of course, after I could actually walk the stairs I still used it to be special / talk on the phone / text people without getting my phone taken away.

I'd love to take the stairs here if all the doors to the stair wells didn't have alarms on them -__-

Maybe you should take steps to fix that.
