Does anyone else here use Opera?

I just discovered that using Opera on these forums causes me to have to re-log in every single time I leave and come back.

Feh.

Have you tried using that "Auto Login" box by the login boxes towards the bottom of the forum index?

I had Opera installed about a week ago and then uninstalled it when I realized that it does not support some Java and whatnot.

[/i]Yup.  Every single time I log in.

[/i]Out of all the browsers I use on a regular basis, I think that Opera has the MOST wrong with it.  There are bugs galore in this browser, it's really unstable, and there are lots and lots of really annoying little things (like if you're typing in a text box on a forum, and you ALT-TAB to another window, like to copy a URL or some text, and you come back to the first window, it has lost focus, so when you start typing, you're no longer in the text box.... irritating shit like that all over the place).

And, apparently with this particular forum-type, it won't keep me logged in.  Oh well.  Now I know not to use Opera at tEH gEEKERY.

Christ.  At this point I'm using a different browser for every site I frequent.  I use Opera for HN (mostly for speed's sake... Mozilla doesn't read it right, so everything over there looks all fucked up, and Internet Exploder is just ridiculously slow on HN, almost to the point where I think it's locking up, just from going from one thread to another), I use Mozilla for FARK, and I use IE for here (because it doesn't seem to run that slow here, as compared to HN).

Don't worry about it.  I'm using IE all the time and it does the same thing to me.  The cookie only seems to work if the browser doesn't get closed.  I visit tEH gEEKeRY first and then I take a jaunt over to HN and then I come back for a bit.  It doesn't make me log-in again when I come back the second time.

I dunno.  It doesn't really bother me enough to leave or anything.

Using IE, I've never had to log back in on this site.

On HN I have, but that's with all browsers.  The only browser I have any problems with here is Opera.

Now only if Opera really was the fastest browser on Earth, then it would be pretty good to use around here since the server is fast as hell.

I generally try not to stay logged in here. You know, just incase. Not like anyone else uses my computer, and plus I "lock" it when I'm not using it. I guess I'm just paranoid.

Have you ever used Tweak UI?  It has a 'Paranoia' tab included in it.

All together, I think it's one of the best pieces of software for a computer.

I saw Opera on your "Download" section Chris, but I wanted to ask:

What exactly is so different about it from...oh let's say...IE?

I just got it the other day and now it comes with an option to install the Java plugins or not.
