A movie, or at least an animation, would be an ideal way to illustrate the theorem.

Cast:
  • A triangle consisting of two good sides and one snotty, arrogant side. The two good sides are named Jack and Jill, and the arrogant side is named Snot.
  • Inchy, the Magic Ruler

Scene 1 (the only scene)

Snot: I am longer than you, Jack

Jack: Well, so you are.

Snot: And I am longer than you, Jill.

Jill: Yes, I know.

Jack and Jill together: But you are not longer than the two of us together!

Snot: But I can be!

Jack and Jill: No, you can't!

Snot: All I have to do is stretch out a little ...  (grunts) ... There!

Jack: You are still shorter than the two of us. Inchy, please measure us!

Inchy: (measures all three sides) Yup! Not long enough, Snot!

Snot: Ok, I will stretch EVEN MOAR! (stretches until the angle formed by Jack and Jill becomes quite oblique)

Jill: Sorry, Snot. Still not long enough! Inchy?

Inchy: She's right, Snot! You are still shorter than the two of them combined... But not by much!

Snot: Well, then -- I will STRETCH until I can STRETCH NO MORE! (grunts and stretches until the angle between Jack and Jill disappears)

Snot: (muffled) THERE! I have stretched to the MAX. Measure us, Inchy!

Inchy: Well, I'll be! You are now EXACTLY the same length as Jack and Jill put together!

Jack: (muffled) There's only one problem...

Snot: (muffled) What now?

Jack and Jill: (muffled) We're no longer a triangle! (with horror) WE ARE A STRAIGHT LINE!

Snot: Fuck this, I'm going home.
