Yo
« on: August 12, 2009, 01:07:40 PM »

Hey guys names MelvinKang.  I have been a geek all my life and a gamer.  I live in NYC and work for a marketing company there during the day.

I recently got into World of Warcraft as I tried the 14 day trial at the Mountain Dew Game Fuel Site ( http://www.mountaindewgamefuel.com/index.php ), pretty great game and my first MMO, before that i was big into fight games, having taken part in various tournaments in Tekken 4, & 5 and other fight games.

I am big into Sci Fi and am an avid reader, though I have to admit new TV Sci Fi hasn't interested me much as a lot of it seems to have become too formulaic.

Well anyway I look forward to being a member of these forums and getting to know the community!

All your life?

Were you a geek at birth, or at conception?

If you think WoW is good now, you should have seen it when it first came out. I think it's gotten progressively worse with each expansion.

Anyways, HI!  :-D

Truth. Thank God I quit when I did, another 4 years might have killed me.

Welcome welcome.

Well from what I gather elemental shaman like myself were a non class, you couldn't do much as a hybrid other than heal back in the day(of course I don't know as I didn't play then).

I might not have like the game as much then from that perspective.

And insofar as birth or conception...I will have to say birth since I was conceived on coconut rum lol the coolest conception ever.  But I was born at a theater playing star wars lol, and immediately following that I was immersed in the Trek world so birth was definitely geekier than conception.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Meh. Vanilla WoW was complete crap, and I'm a firm believer the majority of players think it was king only because it was, well, vanilla WoW. I'll agree and say I don't like the direction they've gone with Wrath, but I loved BC, definitely.

Anyhow, hi! Welcome. What sorts of books do you like?

Right now I am reading Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov, just read Asimov's Foundation and Earth and Red Planet by Robert Heinlein.

I used to be into simpler Sci-Fi and Fantasy but I have been recently trying and loving the classics.
