Be a tetris piece. All you need is boxes, paint and tape.

I like. I saw a pic of someone online who went as a piece of gum by strapping a shoe to the top of their head.

if any of you are fans and know how to work a video camera, i know people who have won two other contests at this place. I'd be happy to put in a good word.

I was thinking of going as Daria because I have the perfect Quinn to pair up with. Last year I almost was Aurora Borealis. Somehow.

i knew that would happen. Growing up, my dad's sibs used to pick on the youngest of the family by telling her that they were all adopted except for her...

so you're calling me a nobody?

oi vey. The only reason I started this thread was because my coworker told me his dad was a "poop doctor" (verbatim) and I started wondering what odd jobs peoples' parents had.... Any sperm/egg donor parents. anyone?? hehe

Sure we do.  My brother in law has a Sigmund Freud action figure and my sister in law has phallic salt and pepper shakers.  How is that unusual.

thats what happens to serious things over time... Freud is kitsch! Anyway... i was more curious about other people's parents' professions... but nobody is biting!

That pic is HIGHlarious

I'm sorry if I offended any adoptees.

How is psychoanalyst an unusual profession?

seriously? Psychoanalysis fizzled out more or less (only to become ego therapy) in the 1970s. It seems outdated. And do you know anyone else that discussed Oedipal conflicts REGULARLY at the dinner table?

For the all the lazy people like me. Its a shameless web-tagging contest (banners) and you can win $3K if your banner gets the most views. Shameless. What will my work come up with next??? a mouse-clicking contest perhaps. honk honk.

« on: October 17, 2006, 11:04:03 AM »
I've been getting into filmmaking (actually video) ever since I've worked at my new job and it would be a real help to me to have a place to ask questions or share info (probably the first more than the latter hehe) about editing and stuff. Just a thought. Maby a sub-forum?

Sticky Stuff (no pun intended) / Re: What are you reading?
« on: October 17, 2006, 10:48:47 AM »
That actually sounds intense...what's it called?

Its called Diogene's Garden by a Hungarian author named Robert Hasz. I just finished it. What a bizarro story...

Sticky Stuff (no pun intended) / Re: What are you reading?
« on: October 16, 2006, 12:55:13 PM »
I'm reading Incredibly Close and Extremely Loud by Johnathan Safran Foer and it is really fucking shitty. I don't even want to finish it and I probably won't.

I'm not a huge 9-11 lit fan but I heard it was well-written. Not even? I'm reading a bizarro book about homeless men that are actually descendents of the lost civilization of Atlantis. About to call it quits too if it gets any worse. :x

The Queen?

It's already been said, but if you could record and link that that would be really cool.

Ummm....I can shake my eyes...they look like they are vibrating.  I can twitch my ears but loads of people can do that.  And this isn't a skill but one of my pupils is bigger than the other (and no, I don't have a concussion, I was born like that).  It's called anisocoria.

Yeah I'm definitely going to get on that. I'll be the next viral video.

Schweet, I don't feel like I came in on the crazy train anymore!  W00t.

So really, you can play with your pupils like that?  Nifty!

I can't even remember how I figured that one out. I've scared my fair share of friend off with that one... hehe actually I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with peoples strange talents, so I went ahead and started one  :-D  http://www.geekforum.org/index.php/topic,4202.0.html

I'll start. I already mentioned this, but I can dilate my pupils at will.

How about another shameless plug for my site?

I just put up a new track currently called "Chill" in the "Tracks in Progress" section on the right of the page.

I really liked the Doctor track.
