Wow, so she's not a natural redhead? I've been envious since seeing that photo.

Why capitalize "occasional"?

Anyhow, welcome, have fun, and so forth.

Well, that decision's been made... I'm going back to school for music education, not English education. :(

I mostly play Alliance. I started it because I loved the way Stormwind looked, and now I continue playing this faction because it's familiar to me.

My old main was a 70 prot warrior on Arygos named Ariedan, but I recently retired her. A month ago, I started my own guild on Doomhammer which is mostly comprised of my real life friends and then people recruited solely on their personality. Most of the people in there are a bunch of intellectual goofballs.

But yeah, feel free to join us on Doomhammer. The character's name is Eriane is you're looking for me.

Anarchy / Web hosting help?
« on: May 24, 2008, 05:18:41 AM »
I wasn't sure if this was supposed to go in the technology section or not. I figured since it had more to do with the internet than technology, I'd post it here.

Anyhow, I was wondering if any of you know of any good web hosts? I'm relatively clueless about this all, and I don't want to dish out more money than I need to. I was looking at Dreamhost, but I don't particularly have a hundred or so bucks lying around to spend in a burst amounts.

Any advice is welcome!

Also, here is a burrito:

Hmph. My introduction thread was great, don't know whatch're talkin' 'bout.

But a few tidbits about me.
  • I'm relatively new. I post every once in a while, but I lurk more than I post.
  • I'm a horrible geek. I like to dip my feet in all geeky areas, but I'm good at only a few of them.
  • I know exactly how many books I own, how many are lent out to friends, and how many I've lost over the years from moving so much.
  • Like Xolik, pretty addicted to World of Warcraft. (Speaking of, what server/faction do you play, Xol? Sending a PM your way!)
  • And like Dark Shade, I can quote all of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And every single one of my close friends are so geeky, they can as well.
  • I'm currently going to school to become a blackjack dealer. I've always been a huge fan of card games (mostly poker, though), so this job's going to be great.
  • I'm a musician! And definitely on the nerdier side of that too- I play clarinet and piano.
  • I'm a huge English history fan, although it has less to do with history and more to do with the fact that I'm a huge fantasy fan.
  • My biggest internet pet peeve besides incoherent idiots would be girls on the internet. Hence the overwhelming need to imply I'm a male when I first join any internet community. I just completely despise the ones who advertise their gender in every syllable, add cute anime faces after every sentence, and post cleavage myspace pictures in their avatars. Make me a fucking sandwich if you want to be treated like a girl that badly.
  • I've been drunk only once ever, and apparently, I'm a nerdy drunk. I just spelled (or tried, rather) words all night.
  • I've always wanted to be a D&D nerd, but I never knew anybody in my area who dabbled in it.

Yup.  In my dreams you do too.
Hahahhaa! +1!

Oooh, I want your cat.

60
From what I hear, it's pretty hard getting a job like that. You would have a better chance getting a job at one of the casinos where I live. They're still really fancy and all that, but you don't need years of dealing experience to get the job, and dealing school is *free*.

Hi I is are new and am liking to be ur frendz.

:(

Are they going to train you to spot cheaters/card counters/etc? I think that would be pretty cool.
No. Those are the things you learn when you want to go higher up in the chain-of-command. I'm just learning to be a mere blackjack dealer. With that said, I plan on taking the next Pai Gow class (which should fall right around a few months after comfortably dealing blackjack).

63
I started training for my new job (blackjack dealer in some fancy casino). Should be interesting, to say the least.

You'll probably have to excuse some of us here; we're so uncouth we're liable to *gasp!* compliment you. We apologize in advance.
Like I said in my PM, I apologize for coming across as rude. I tend to forget the context of my playful sarcasm is lost in written word.

In case anyone's forgotten, I was the person that came here implying I was male and discussing porn in my introduction thread. Just throwing that out there for those who have suddenly realized I'm neither male nor a talking, fishy-smelling inanimate object. Or is tuna inanimate. . ? It's dead, but still technically a creature. Food for thought.

my GOD you're beautiful!
I'm still trying to asses whether or not that's sarcasm. Although, I suppose it's well deserved given the cam-whorey-ness quality of the photo.

And Dark, believe it or not, that was not intentional.

69
Nine? Why not ten? Surely the man deserves an even number!
Because ten is too predictable! Nine is used far less often, therefore making the praise even more special.

Eh. I ain't got nuttin'.

Main Page Stuff / Re: Future, Right Ahead!
« on: May 18, 2008, 02:06:57 PM »
This is a very well written post, most of which I was nodding to in agreement.

I would, however, like to comment on the internet reason. I don't really think the internet promotes and even helps stupidity grow. I think stupid people will be stupid no matter what, no matter where, no matter when. The problem with the internet is that it just rounds all of the idiots together, making it a more obvious display. Maybe I'm just putting too much faith in the internet- or I'm too cynical, take your pick- but I'm an adamant believer that generally speaking, mankind has always been stupid. The internet just makes it more obvious.

I know it's been a month since this thread was last revived, but really, I thought this was an important thing to ask: Did anybody read the topic title as "It has not been in my mouth?" It wasn't until I was about halfway finished reading the original post that I sadly realized this was not an oral discussion.

Flamer's Corner / Re: Polite and nice does not mean I'm a pushover.
« on: May 18, 2008, 01:36:29 PM »
Ironicly, as much as a smart-ass online as I am online, I am extremely polite in real life. and Unfortunately, I care about peoples' well-being too much and end up being walked all over, too... Usually, I wont defend myself out of laziness or pure frustration - to the point that I just walk away so I don't actually have to beat them to death with my shoe....
Glad some other individual on these forums feels the overwhelming need to correct grammar with a red pen. Well, not technically.

Is this "new meat" some ham?
Dammit, you beat me. When I first saw the title of this thread, I had intended on responding with "Well, what sort of meat are you?" thinking I would be witty and original. Hmph.
