My "supervisor" is constantly gone and leaves all the work to me even though it is partially her responsibility. Now she is complaining that some stuff didn't get done and its driving me insane. What are you smart ass remarks that could be said without getting into serious trouble?

Ever consider hiring a co-op student? I could use a corporate lackie right now. I mean, you benefit from one year round so you know what I'm talking about. Maybe I get get one for 4 months or something.

If your supervisor has a boss, tell him/her about what is going on.

Lately, I have been reading about this happening more and more on various tech sites, and I am seeing it more and more first hand at work. It's pretty sleazy when someone is paid for 45 hours of work each week, only works 35 of those, and then pours their work load on the people below them who don't get paid nearly as much. Yea, that's responsible.

I guess that's life. Or, as the proverbial saying goes, "Shit floats".

I've only had one job so far, so I can't really say if such occurences are common place in the business world. Perhaps someone else can give some insight as to whether or not this is a common thing that goes on?

HELL YES! I've got to do so much of my boss's crap it's not even funny. This isn't even counting the God knows how many hours I spend cleaning up his messes when he decides to play System Administrator without telling anybody and fucks things up. Yeah, it goes on alright.

You see stuff like this happening in the military sometimes. Occasionally it's legitimately because the superviser has other things that they need to be doing, but there's certainly no shortage of dirtbags. Personally, I'm for the direct appraoch and keeping it at the lowest level. Calmly explain to them what you percieve as being some hardcore shamming, and tell them that unless there's a reason for it, that things need to change. If there is a reason, then you need a raise. Otherwise, they either start pulling their load, or you have to find another way to address it.

I dunno, at least when I enter the work force not all of my tasks will be obnoxious. Interns get stuck with all of the worst garbage.

rofl That's true, but they're always preaching at us about how fragicide isn't an acceptable solution. Of course, it's coming from a preacher, so no one really thinks much of it.

Oh come now. Fragicide is only a misdemeanor in most situations. What's the worst they'll do? They'll dock you a month's pay and give you base restriction for a few weeks.
