A while back my host decided it was necessary to change name server IP addresses without really making much of an effort to contact anyone who was hosted under the same IP addresses. With that said, you may want to try flushing your DNS cache, though I doubt that it would still be effecting you for this long now after the switch.

Try the following command in a DOS prompt:

Code: [Select]
ipconfig /flushdns

I've never seen avatars in the shoutbox.

The site is fine for me.

I believe he's talking about how your own avatar is displayed next to the shout box on the left hand side. I used to never have signatures enabled, but only recently I re-enabled them on my account so I could see what everyone was doing.

Actually -- scratch that. This is what I'd really like:

I like to hide the shoutbox, but when I do that I also hide the "Show unread posts since last visit" link. Can that link be moved somewhere else?

I have put an "Unread" button right below where is says "Hello [username]" (if you have the shout box collapsed, that is.

Let me know how this works out.

What web address are you accessing these forums from as there are several redirects out there that I know I have.

Anarchy / Suggestion Thread
« on: July 10, 2010, 11:50:33 PM »
I'm always thinking about ways to improve this place and ways to make things more interesting on the forums here. I'm currently still looking for a way to link this forum database along with a CMS, but that's slow going.

So then it hit me: Why not ask the members what features / functions / changes they would like to see implemented? I'm sure I've had a thread like this in the past, but it hasn't been stickied before!

If you have seen a cool feature somewhere else that you think we should have here, this is the thread to let me know. If you have an idea to make things interesting around here, this is the thread. If you have noticed something that should be taken care of, this is the place to let me know.

For example: It dawned on me that in the past I have run certain "contests" on these forums, but they were always a real pain in the ass because it required me to obtain a product, and the re-package it and then send it to the winner. So why not offer up some kind of Amazon.com or Newegg.com gift certificate instead?

If you don't want to come out in the open with your suggestion / comment / whatever you want to call it, feel free to PM me with your ideas.

Also, I know we all like to have fun within threads, but let's try to keep this one on track. There are several thousand other threads out there that can be de-railed, so try to pick one of them instead.

319 pound bench? That's it?

What's your squat and deadlift like? And if you tell me you have a 1200 pound leg press, therefore you "should" have a 600 pound squat, you don't. Also, describe to me what "breaking parallel" means when it comes to squatting.

319 pound bench doesn't really mean much in terms of strength. Not to mention... 319? Usually the next jump from 315 would be 320 since most gyms only have 2.5 pound plates. Then again, I suppose if you're going to a some-what elite gym where they train for competitions then they may have 1 pound plates, and half pound plates. Then again I suppose if you're using metric rather than our silly system of weights and measures, it may make sense.

This reminds me of Du Hast by Rammstein:

You
you have
you have me
you have asked me
you have asked me and I have said nothing

They seem to use the same "step style" when it comes to beginning a new train of thought.

Political Opinions / Re: NASA's job to befriend Muslims?

I agree, I think NASA has bigger and better things to worry about and focus on. I'd certainly like to see a human land on Mars and return home safely in my life time. Whether or not that's even close to happening with our currently technology, I don't know, but I'd like to see them try and get us to that point.

In all seriousness, I have stopped reading Fox News because it seems like they are trying to entertain rather than inform in most cases, especially on their cable news network. Either they have gotten worse with it over the years, or I have just become more aware of what they're doing, but either way there are better news outlets out there to pick from.

BTW, there's this from the New York Post:

You can add the following URL to your RSS feeds. I use iGoogle as my home page, so it gives me a head start on what's going on on the forums before I even hit them. Here's the URL:

The 300 is a quick car, but what they forgot is the fact that police cars have radios in them.

Does anyone here have an invite to Google Voice that they would like to share with me?

If you would, please send me a PM with the details. I'm willing to trade favors for this invite.

Oh, no. Believe it or not every component in your computer has a driver, including audio no matter if it's an internal card or a card by Creative.

Like school in summer... No class.

Wait. This guy probably is in school during the summer for a reason, and it isn't to get ahead in his college course work.

You downgraded to Windows 2000? What did you think was going to happen? The native driver cab files are from around 1999 when Windows 2000 was being developed. Your hardware in which it was installed on was probably developed and manufactured after 2007.

I have done two Windows 7 installations and I have really had no issues with drivers so far. Though I'm sure in a year or two as new hardware comes out things will change.

Oh, I forgot. this works at least for now... until I decide to fuck with things again. Then it probably won't work.
