This thing that we like to call "the internet" is a vast collection of webpages and fanatical users who have a plentiful lack of knowledge when it comes to things such as breathing, and we could only hope for breeding as well.

If you've been a long time Geek on the internet, you most likely don't have a problem wading your way through the dead bodies. If you're brand new to the whole Geek scene, then most likely you aren't having good luck finding your way around the internet, and are most likely face down in a puddle of fecal matter somewhere under your desk.

As you may have realized, there are a lot of sites out there that are after your wife, if you have one, your penis, if you have one, or your wallet, if you have one. These sites are mostly raped with ads that will sell you anything from Viagra to a broken cow in India that doesn't produce milk. As a new user, you might be asking yourself, "Do people really go for those ads?" The answer to this is sadly yes. I've seen many people fall for the ads that are placed on web pages. Some even exclaim "I'VE WON A FREE CAR!" when using a computer in a public place.

We're going to help you avoid all of the confusion and the ads by giving you a BS-Free list of popular websites with little or no ads at all.
Search Engines
Search engines drive the internet, without them, we would be lost. Most of the major search engines, such as http://www.yahoo.com" TARGET="BLANK">Yahoo! have since sold out and began blasting users with advertising several years ago. In order to steer clear of that mess, the popular search engine http://www.google.com" TARGET="BLANK">Google might help. Complete with an image search, news search, and a way to convert measurements, Google has almost everything you could want. Except the ability to let you do two chicks at the same time if you had a million dollars.

Weather
With the recent weather in the Northeastern section of the United States, it has forced me to become more aware of the weather. I've also come to realize that http://www.weather.com" TARGET="BLANK">The Weather Channel isn't that reliable and has more ads than a porn site. Instead, I have found http://www.nws.noaa.gov/" TARGET="BLANK">The National Weather Service to be better. Sure, they may not be reliable either, but at least you won't get blasted with a million ads when you go to their site.

Computer Parts
Every Geek needs a place to buy his or her computer parts from. Instead of going with a company like http://www.dell.com" TARGET="BLANK">Dell, going to another dealer and just getting parts will prove to be cheaper. I recommend http://www.newegg.com" TARGET="BLANK">Newegg. When it comes to speed, they are the best. You can get your order in as little as three days, and their prices are rock-bottom. And no, they aren't paying us for this. It's true.

Auctions
There are quite a few auction sites out there, but still none are as large as http://www.ebay.com" TARGET="BLANK">Ebay. Simply because the amount of users using eBay, no other place can compare with the amount of merchandise that can be searched through on their site.

News
There are many sites for news. http://www.fark.com" TARGET="BLANK">FARK might be a good choice, however, they have a decent amount of ads on their site to cover the insane cost of running their site. A good alternative to getting your daily dose of news would be http://news.google.com">Google News.

Hacking Advice
Clearly, there is a need to learn how to hack from newbies to the interweb. If you're looking for some real advice from real hackers that will not give you any bullshit, the http://www.hackernetwork.com/forum" TARGET="BLANK">forums from http://www.hackernetwork.com" TARGET="BLANK">HackerNetwork are your best bet. Those guys know what they're talking about. No one knows hacking better than them. Not even Kevin Mitnick.

Google is slowly replacing the banner with text adds. An you can find out swear words in other languages with Google. Praise be to Google!
