Hi.  Welcome.

While Opera is the new Firefox, the old Firefox version 2.0 does have built in speel checking.  We certainly appreciate the effort to correct your spelling, no matter how you accomplish it.

Enjoy your stay.  Keep your feet off the furniture.

What do you think of LFS?  I haven't tried that one yet.  If I remember right, that's a compile-everything-custom-build-as-you-go distro like Gentoo, isn't it?

Yes Linux from scratch is compile everything, you need a base system to start from until you can chroot into you new system where you can finish the build.  The toolchain requires 3 builds of some parts to make sure nothing is dependant on your old system.  I liked my Linux from scratch system and would like to sometime build a system all the way up to KDE, Gnome and all the final apps I plan on using.
