Where are these newly registered users?
« on: April 02, 2003, 12:28:51 PM »

Every day, the lastest registered user changes. Yet none of them ever post. So what's the point of registering? I mean, look at the very last page of the member list. You have like 30 ppl there that have registered in the past week, yet I don't recall seeing a signle post from anyone of them. Weird Tingly Feeling?

idea!  why not make a post minimum for new users, say 3 posts within 48 hours of joining, or the account gets deleted.  It'll keep things from getting overcrowded in the member listings, at least.

Why are people always so concerned with this?

Why does it matter? If people want to post, they'll post...

but there's no reason to register if you're just gonna read the threads and not participate.  it's just a matter of clutter reduction, i guess.

I guess I'd rather have a hundred users register and post nothing than have even one moron register and make 100 posts of pointless, boring rubbish.

If you were truly that concerned with "clutter reduction" you'd stop posting.

hehe! Demo Strikes again.

I don't care either if the noobs post or not. My question was more why bother seting up an account if you won't post. It's just another mystery I guess. Kinda like the caramilk.

I've found that it's a pretty normal part of most web forums... you always wind up with a fairly static number of "regular posters", a fairly static number of "drive by posters" (those that only pop in for a week at a time and then they don't show up again for months), and typically a fairly large, static number of "lurkers" (those who have accounts, read the forums, but almost never post) and usually a sizable number of "never post" individuals who register accounts and then never even lurk the site or post even once.

*shrugs*

It's not like there's a limit to how many accounts there can be or anything... go to any forum online that has been in operation longer than six months and you'll find exactly what I'm talking about.  It's perfectly normal.

Yeah, there are a few forums that I've registered for and never posted at.  I wanted to post, then just changed my mind and never went back.

What the hell is caramilk?

Wait, Judge, was the mystery why the caramilk doesn't post, or why it exists?

Oh, I thought it was like, caramel flavored milk.

Well, is it anything like a Caramello?  And why is it such a mystery?

Ok, in an attempt to answer my own question, I came up with this.  I am way more confused now.  What is this all about?

A French chocolate fish!? OMFGLOL!!!
We must boycott it! No, I don't mean stop buying it; I mean let's buy 2000 of them from the French and let them loose in the sea. Then we must rename it.

Don't you guys have that chocolate bar back home? It's made by cadbury. They have been using this "secret" thing for marketing campaings for years. The secret is how they put the caramel in the caramilk.

And here is the anwser to the secret...

Nope, we don't have that.  I guess it's the same thing though as Caramello, since Caramello is also made by Cadbury.

We never thought it much of a mystery, however.

So what's up with that fish then??

The text on the fish image says: "A mystery as important as the caramlik secret has just been revealed: this is the difference between a male trout and a female trout".

So you were really off...

You might want to start a newbie thread of your own instead of just blending into this one.

Lacerda's quite right...

Try to introduce yourself, as opposed to just "leaping into the fray", as I would put it.

Welcome, regardless.  :P
