Title: A Boring Life
Post by: BizB on June 03, 2014, 07:59:08 AM
According to a recent study, a whopping 74% (SEVENTY FOUR!) of Americans think their lives are boring. So, I'm wondering...

What do you do to keep your life exciting? #Livin'OnTheEdge

I like to mow the lawn diagonally from time to time.
I eat corn on the cob by going around the cob rather than back/forth on the rows.
I turn off the sound and turn on SAP and pretend I'm in a different country while I eat my TV dinner in front of the TV.

I ride my bike on city streets, resulting in 2-3 near-death experiences per week.

Hang out in ICU with my mom.

I'm rarely bored, except for in meetings.  But even then I try to crack a few jokes to keep everyone entertained.  Work is pretty exciting right now.  When it's not, I have the internet, podcasts, music.  I still try to make it to concerts at least a couple times a month.  I hang out with my kid whenever I can.  I volunteer in his school.  Life is usually exciting.  Sometimes too much so.

I spend evenings finding activities that take away all the anxieties I have about things I need to do at my job - That'll keep ya busy.
I also add "fucking" in front of innocuous search terms in Google and read angry forum entries like "fucking property tax" or "fucking Homoerotic A-Team Fanfiction".

I find new ways to injure myself doing mundane things, like roasting beets or flossing.
I train the neighbors with passive-aggressive comments...before they even move in.
I watch hockey "with" BizB  :slap
I convince a growing number of people in my life to take up yoga.
I make up recipes in my head, then Google them to see if I'm going down a dangerous path. "fucking ice tea mojito"

I reapper and disapper randomly like Nightcrawler as favourite places bubble back up in my brain.

I have taken up aikido and brazilian jiu jitsu. I throw large parties to distract myself and surround my self with sarcastic and sardonic assholes to keep my wit dull.  :w:

Amazingly patient! One of those guys whose passion is infectious. My spawn have been doing jiu jitsu couple years under him. One big family:)

Boring lives are underrated.

May you live in interesting times is not a well-wish.

"Well-wish" is in the dictionary. That was very un-boring to learn.

I do not feel my life is boring, but when I do start getting bored I just go on vacation.

I grow garlic on my apartment window and cut the heads off of flowers that people bring me. Of course that doesn't take up too much time and so, being born of the generation that I am, my brain instantly requires dopamine.

I design super-villainesque schemes, plots, conspiracies, plans, and sometimes lairs.

Needles's buddy Blothar did a fantastic job, and the script and props were great.  Always an amazing theatrical production.
