You know me...scrolling through the various threads...minding my own business, when all of a sudden, an idea strikes.
How about we devote this particular thread of mine to ".WAV" speak, using mainly .wav files to communicate? Any thoughts? Insight? Cruel and inhumane punishment?
Please don't hurt me...
-
Where are we supposed to host these files?
-
I...um...er...well...
Thought I'd leave it semi-up to the person who wishes to speak...
Unless there's some generous soul who wishes to volunteer?
-
too much banwidth and space required..
-
I guess you're right...as usual Hob...
Thanks for the input though...I'll see what else I can do.
-
I think it could work rather well, host it on angelfire or something and just have people download it from there? or maybe have links with embeded wav files on a site they make or something, could be a fun thing.,
-
Sounds good to me .. get it figured out and I'm game
-
I doubt that a free web host would let this happen. Would be a lot of bandwidth, and they don't like letting people download from them.

I am wondering Dark if something like this would work? Free Pagoo Voice Signature (http://www.pagoo.com/signature/p.asp?Id=Jessica&VID=720)

I dunno...that mainly involves using a voice signature through e-mails, I was thinking more along the lines of just having linked WAV files in our speech, as opposed to speaking using direct text.
That's still pretty neat thought. How did ya come across it?

We did this on another forum I was at a while back. After you record your voice all you have to do is leave the link to access your voice.

If that damned FTP server would work, there wouldn't be a problem. Can anyone actually access it? ftp://download:download@67.80.197.252:810

The log goes on for a bit like that, before ending with

Such fun, that would be. We should find some sort of voice chat thingy.
Hopefully, it wouldn't become too much like Yahoo.
-
Would Geocities be of any assistance? Crappy, yes, but it's the best "freebie" I can think of. Fucks up alot, however, and isn't too reliable.
-
I've got the FTP server working now, so it might not be that impossible to do.
-
Maybe a home Apache server? I've got one set up, and I'm sure lots of others do, too

Through all of this, I still haven't figured out how to upload files onto it...
Mind giving me a quick crash course? Then I can bring up a couple of things. Seems it can "carry" quite a bit of stuff.

I've frustrated the all-mighty Demosthenes. My work here is done.
-
I'm not "all-mighty". I'm really only semi-mighty at best. Okay, on some days I'm pretty damned mighty, but only after I've had my morning coffee...

I keep thinking that same thing whenever I read threads around here. The first time I read it I thought someone somehow broke into my account and posted with it.

So then do you mind me messing with your mind by using your old avatar? If you do, then I'll gladly change it.
