Ok, I thought there was a Linux Mint thread around here made by Demo; but I went back about 7 pages and couldnt find it.
Anyway, I *finally* installed it and got it to work. I had an issue at first getting the bios to see the hard drive; as it is USB connected, and tends
to not show up in the boot choices. I have to first go in and reset the bios's USB entry to "Hard Drive", since it resets to "Auto" each time and I
cant find how to make "Hard Drive" the default. Once I set it to Hard Drive, save and exit; then I have to bring up my boot menu. Now the drive shows up, and I can boot to it.
I'm using Linux Mint 13 "Maya" MATE. So far, I *LIKE* it. A lot. Of course I have to reboot to play games, but even when I only used Windows I had to reboot to play games; so, nothing lost/nothing gained on that issue.
At any rate, now that I'm using it, I may be havening some questionatin' to do with for ya, specially Demo.  :w:

Like, how do I h4xx0r hotmail in Linux??   :-P

From an email I received:

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed
around.

_*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*_

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive
the message. Don't you think it's time?

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

I'm glad to see I'm on the list, or I'd've had to go on a mindless antagonistic rampage.

You should edit yourself off of it. This shit is fuckin FUN.

Also, if one's brains are not ok; where does he keep his firearm, if not at home? At work?

Dutch scientists carried out the controversial research to discover how easy it was to genetically mutate H5N1 into a highly infectious "airborne" strain of human flu. They believe that the knowledge gained will be vital for the development of new vaccines and drugs."

All that being said, the more common wattage employed today is 400W minimum; which I'd recommend if you ever plan to add anything else to your pc.

On the other hand, if a 250W supply is what was in the machine you have; it's possibly time for a machine upgrade.

Flamer's Corner / Re: The 'Let's Bitch About Our Jobs' thread.

It IS nice to have a long heads up.

As for severance; I've no idea. They haven't put anything out about anyone's actual job yet, except to say "As the contracts expire and the volume goes down, well... it's going to 'get tight'." (as far as manpower)

I punched in telecommunications jobs for Greenville, SC (which is where I'm actually from- not Georgia; and where I'd like to get back) and there are quite a few. The ones I'm interested in are very similar to what I'm doing now; as far as I can tell by the job description. Communications equipment monitoring/troubleshooting in a NOC center. The company is Windstream. Now here's where it gets potentially really good..  Alltel rolled out Windstream, then Verizon bought Alltel. So it could be a lateral move for me as far as seniority, pay, etc. I just don't know (yet) if Windstream went on as its own entity or if Verizon acquired it in the buyout of Alltel. Or even if any of that matters.

What doesn't suck about the whole thing is finally knowing. It's almost a relief. At least I can move on with life; instead of living on *pause*.
