You, Sir, are in for a TREAT.

I remembered they had a connection and even co-authored a book on organ transplants but it always seemed so strange. I mean, Charles Lindbergh? This is really filling a lot of historical gaps for me.

I don't care if people get the care they need...as long as they pay for it.  Someone who has an eating disorder and is old enough to get a job, should get a job to pay for the health insurance.  Someone who is not old enough should have parents who have health insurance.
I hate to burst your perfect world bubble on this....but there are a lot of people with jobs that don't have insurance because their companies will not offer it. getting insurance independently is fucking outrageous because you can be denied for pre-existing conditions such as asthma or even for previous health problems that COULD resurface (cancer, ulcers, etc).

So why should I be paying for and old person that IS DIEING instead of helping people that can actually contribute something more than shitting themselves in a retirement home if they were healthy?

Also, what about children without health care? Do you just want to say fuck them because their parents don't have or can't get insurance? or even worse.....they can't afford it? you can't tell a 5 year old "deal with your broken arm because mommy and daddy can't afford you hospital bills".

Edit: And whether or not you realize it....you already DO pay for those uninsured people. Hospitals forecast how many people will not pay them that year because of no insurance. The forecast for most hospitals is 25%. So, that 25% that the hospitals AREN'T getting paid gets pushed on to the insurance companies payouts. Those insurance companies don't just eat that, they up your premiums. So no matter what you're already paying for the uninsured.

What healthcare needs is capitalism.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic. Please.

The last thing our health care needs is capitalism. If our health care is over priced and people are under cared for now, it would be FAR worse if it was based solely on a capitalistic structure. Doctors could deny patients anything if they didn't have the money to cough up on the spot the only people that would receive  any kind of medical help are the people that could pay for it. People that are already waiting years for kidneys or livers might as well just off themselves now because they'll never get it if capitalism ruled health care.

What? SP1 is going to soak up 7GB of disk space? No way.

Microsoft's planned Vista Service Pack 1 may not be adding many features, but it sure does take up a lot of space.

Based on current test versions, the operating system update will be a 1GB file when uncompressed. By way of comparison, Windows XP--the whole thing--shipped on a CD, which only holds about three quarters of a gigabyte. On the plus side, systems that already have the latest Vista patches can be brought up to the Service Pack 1 level with only a 50MB compressed file through Microsoft's online Windows Update utility.

Also notable, installing the OS will require 7GB of free hard drive space, though much of that will be returned to the user once the megapatch is applied.

That's still pretty hefty either way you turn the cookie.

I'll switch to Vista when it's no longer incomplete. Saying you shipped a "complete" product and then requiring 7gigs for the SP1 doesn't sound very complete to me.

Although I disagree with that particular situation I'm in favour of a NHS. It's a bit ridiculous that even with insurance I'm spending $200+ a month for my prescriptions and doctor visits. I still owe the hospital $3k from a surgery I HAD to have and because I can't pay them it's been on my credit report for two years. I can't imagine what it's like for people without insurance.

I'll agree that I hope Hilary isn't elected but there has GOT to be a solution for our health care that's better than what's going on right now.

The only thing that would complete my life right now is if my bf proposed and we had enough money for a wedding, a house and to have his kids living with us full time while we BOTH finished school.

*dream*
