Yes, though I really hate that he ended this one the way he did.  1.The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins Currently reading The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I read this one back when I was about 15 or 16 or so, and barely made it through it. The writing itself isn't bad, but as an amateur Tolkien scholar, The Sword of Shannara is so openly derivative of the Lord of the Rings that I found it almost unreadable. However, I've been told by many people whose opinions I find credible that I need to give the series another chance, that it gets better after the first book. I'm not sure I'll even make it through the first book this time around. I just got to the part where Frodo and Sam get their first look at the Ringwraith that's hunting them in the Shire, and they've decided to flee on Aragorn's advice and meet up with Gandalf at Rivendell to the east. I'm not joking, it's that blatant. Somebody please tell me the series is worth it. 217
