I smell a monetization opportunity!!!!!!!

Seriously though... slow loading forum... crazy ass number of spammers we can't do much about, a quirky and snarky but loyal membership base.... it's like it's 2004 again!

In digging through the Internet Wayback Machine last night, I resurrected my lost Coolio points from my forum sig on HN back in 2004.

Bask in their glory.  The new (old) total is now gracing my sig here on Teh Geekery (OMFGLOL!!1).

Hell.  There are posts made by people on forums that haven't existed for years that you still can't get rid of.

EDIT: Heh!  I just ran across this gem:-D

Heh.  The MP3s of those are still in my collection that I have in Google Play Music and come up regularly in instant mixes.

I now work for the largest payroll and HCM company in the world. Is it my life's calling? No. But it's a hell of a lot better than what I was doing before. I actually have weekends off. What is that?

Congrats.  Sometimes it takes us a while to learn that it's important to have a life and not just a job/career.

So what are you doing for this company?

This is from the other day.  Very hung over (along with everyone else I was with), in a Perkins, waiting for our food.

Finished Dexter's Last Cut, myself.

Now, Dexter doesn't have to be a lumberjack forever.

Yes, though I really hate that he ended this one the way he did.   :x

Currently reading The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks.

I read this one back when I was about 15 or 16 or so, and barely made it through it.  The writing itself isn't bad, but as an amateur Tolkien scholar, The Sword of Shannara is so openly derivative of the Lord of the Rings that I found it almost unreadable.

However, I've been told by many people whose opinions I find credible that I need to give the series another chance, that it gets better after the first book.

I'm not sure I'll even make it through the first book this time around.  I just got to the part where Frodo and Sam get their first look at the Ringwraith that's hunting them in the Shire, and they've decided to flee on Aragorn's advice and meet up with Gandalf at Rivendell to the east.

I'm not joking, it's that blatant.

Somebody please tell me the series is worth it.

This is the original video, and probably the funniest one.  Some of the newer ones get sort of tedious.

I only just discovered AD in the last couple years. I bet if I read through all the old threads I'll find a gazillion references that went right over my head.
