My own cynical gut reaction was, "Well, Obama just won reelection in a walk."

Grats, Judgie!

P.S. This was somehow not what I was expecting when I read the thread title.

You ask how does it change things?  My reaction: In the immediate, life just got a whole lot more dangerous.  I tried to feel joy over the news, really, I did.  All I ended up feeling was sad and apprehensive over what happens next.  Someone is going to have to prove a retaliatory point.  I just wonder how big a point they're going to try to prove.

I've been Vespertine on here for as long as I've been here.  I play EQ2 and my main's name is Vespers.  I met a bunch of my EQ2 guildies in real life last August.  I think I was called by my real name exactly once.  The entire rest of the time I was called 'V'.

I vote for keeping Demo.

Whats interesting is not hearing anything about "Obama's illegal war" or how he's a war criminal now; just like Bush. I guess it's ok if he does it?

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2011-03-22/dennis-kucinichs-campaign-to-impeach-obama-over-libya-war/#

With a quick 5 minutes of looking, I'd say there already appears to be noise about Obama being a war criminal, and I can only assume the noise about it will continue to get louder.

LOL!!!

I laugh because I can SO identify with what you've just described, ivan.  Major, catastrophic things can happen and I will barely blink an eye.  But I can get worked into such a massive tizzy over stupid, inconsequential things.  It's amusing to others.  :)

This is hilarious.  I opened this thread specifically to make a comment about whether 'backyard astronomy' was a euphemism for something.  And I see sodomy jokes.

HER: Rosati's Pizza, how can I help you?

ME: I'd like to place an order for delivery please.

...placing order stuff here....

HER: Will this be cash or credit?

ME: Credit.

HER: Go ahead with the card number whenever you're ready.

ME: Gives card number.

HER: Expiration date?

ME: June, 2012

HER: Oh, the card didn't run.  Can I get the number again?

ME: Gives card number.

HER: Expiration date?

ME: June, 2012

HER: Weird...it failed again.  Can we try it one more time?

ME: Sure.  Gives card number.

HER: Expiration date?

ME: June, 2012.

HER: Um, that's..........08, 2012.......right?

ME: (totally deadpan but DYING on the inside) Uh, no...June would be the SIXTH month of the year.

HER: OH!  It totally worked this time.

You guys have no idea how much I wanted to ask her if she needs help tying her shoes.  I immediately hung up with her and called, like, three different people to tell them all the story.  The scary and REALLY pathetic part is that this was about a month ago.  I called a few days ago and she did the EXACT SAME THING.

This is excatly what I was talkening about.

I actually wrote "You have a tendency to color me one way
without taking what I actually said into consideration. Please stop."

You somehow see it as "But, you want me to stop?  Fine, I'll stop.  I am done engaging in the conversation when the topic is Muslims or Islam"

So, either you misunderstood my sentence completely, or you read it and came up with your own interpretation, or you can't discuss Muslims without assuming that because I mention them; I hate them. Or something. I don't know which it is; but the end result *seems* to be that you think I'm a bigoted, racist, hater. And it bugs
me to know how you got that idea, when what I've always posted is completely the opposite. While it is true I am not usually "politically correct" with my speech/verbage; I'm hardly bigoted towards anyone that doesn't want to hurt me.

Well then I feel the need to state emphatically that I do not not NOT think that you are bigoted, or racist, or a hater.  If someone thought I was any of those things, it would bug me too.  So please believe that I think much more highly of you than that.  I think it's that sometimes you state something strongly, almost like an initial, visceral reaction, and only later agree to come down and have a less emotionally charged conversation/debate/whatever.  I think that that initial charged statement might stick with me more than it should.

<Ravishes Vespertine, takes her out on a really nice date, calls her cutesy names>
Ahem, 'bitch' is NOT a cutesy name.
