Is it just me, or would anyone else like to see Rick Perry and Michelle Bachman have a battle royale over which one is REALLY the candidate chosen by God?

I have an interesting story related to this incident.

Someone on my FB friend list posted a comment on his page along the lines of:
Quote
Vengeance is mine says the Lord. We are happy to act as the tool of God's will.  Prepare to meet Allah, terrorist.

BACKGROUND: I've known this person for 20 years.  He was one of my best friends at one point, proposed at another point, and has morphed into an acquaintance over the years.

Anyway, upon reading his comment, I posted a response along the lines of:
Quote
If you're going to pick a bible quote to justify your desire for revenge, you should probably pick a new one.  The one you creatively cherry picked is actually the exact opposite of your interpretation.  For you reference, here's the full quote <copy and paste of Romans 12: 19 - 21>.

He posted some bullshit half-literate response about how it's HIS interpretation and he'd be happy to educate me (or some such nonsense).  I saw the response via the notification that landed in my inbox.  When I went to FB to reply, I couldn't find it.  I thought he had deleted the thread.  Turns out that he defriended me.  Over that.  Because I had the gall.  What kind of candyass can't take someone disagreeing with them over their thirst for blood?

Also, what kind of loot do you think a spider would carry?
Most low level spiders seem to carry Silk, Poison Glands, or Arachnid Legs...there's a market out there for that (just ask Shakespeare's witches).  Sometimes the big, scary, heroic spiders carry better loot: some form of weapon or armor based on the spider's unique strengths.  I would think a Level 3 spider might have some good stuff on it.

80
If spiders achieved levels for every inch in diameter there would be a level 3 spider in my laundry room.

Found it last night and should have dealt with it then because this morning it is above the door to the laundry room instead of in the corner over the washer.
I thought about smashing it with a broom to cause 'Knock Down' disabling it for at least 5 seconds depending on my attribute distribution but then realized it would be within striking distance of my feet and my boots have crappy runes.
I considered using the vacuum but the nozzle is less than two feet long and the handicap of high DPS tends to be easy interruptions and if it moves or God-forbid doesn't fit in the end of the nozzle I'll be screaming like a little girl and yesterday's load of darks will continue to rot until my roommate wakes up, if the screaming doesn't do it for her.

Someone suggested catching it in a towel but I'm out of sugary speed buffs.  Any suggestions?

I think the situation calls for a combination poison-based DoT, and ranged attack.  I'd recommend bug spray that can spray up to 10 feet.  It falls.  It rots.  You loot the body after the danger has passed.

Some of you seem to eat books for breakfast; Vespertine you are an inspiration.

I'm on page 90 of Stallion Gate by Martin Cruz Smith and undecided if I like it or not.

I don't like disappointment; my goal is 4 more before Dec 31st.

Thanks.  I've been a reader my whole life.  I do chew through books.  Usually, the first time I read a book I tear through it.  When I'm done, I immediately start over and read it a second time to get anything I may have missed.

Funniest headline I've read in a looooooong time.

"GOP chief wants Weiner out"

UPDATE: I found a new funniest headline.   :-D

"Police urge holster use after man shoots penis"

No.  Again, I'm sure it's her politics.  I've known for years that he's extremely conservative.  But, he's never really been big into religion, so I was suprised about it.  Also, he's had too many positive examples of strong women in his life to justify her "women should be subservient to their men/husbands" crap...it's just weird.

85
No, I can pretty much rest assured that it's her politics.  Disappointing.  * Vespertine slowly shakes head

I may have to kill a friend I've had for 18 years.  He just "liked Michele Bachman" on Facebook.   :-o

If you're looking for stuff on DVD (or Netflix or whatever), I recommend Alias and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Unlike the rest of you slacker wiseasses, I intend to give a serious answer here.  Later.  Over the weekend.

In all seriousness, I am actually thinking about this and will post over the weekend when I have a bit of free time.

Good call on a throught provoking topic, 12.

Entertainment / Re: Clash of the Titans Plot Hole???

To what book are you referring?

I'm talking about the cheesy ass remake of the cheesy ass original (circa 1980s) movie.

And there would be no Kraken in the Medusa stories because the Kraken acutally comes from Norse mythology.  I'm just letting that one go in terms of plot holes.

Also, I can't be the only geek who noticed this.  And yet, I can't find a single thing about this particular plot hole in my extensive Googles...and it's the biggest plot hole in the movie, assuming I'm right about the flesh/elemental thing of course.

I can't remember if I posted this question before, and I'm just too lazy to search for it.

The Clash of the Titans remake...

Io tells Perseus that the head of Medusa will kill anything made of flesh.  Earlier in the film, the Kraken is referred to as a "colossal elemental beast".  As we all know, the plan works.  Perseus turns the Kraken to stone by making it look at Medusa's head.  HOW THE FUCK DID THAT WORK!?!?!?

Am I missing something here?  If it's elemental then it's definitely not made of flesh.  Right?

I grew up with 3 grandfathers and 4 grandmothers.  To me, there was never any difference between which ones were 'step' and which ones were 'real'.

Good points, Detta!

I honestly don't know the final message behind the call.  I hung up on it after the DESTROY AMERICA part (within the first 5 - 10 seconds).

And Arizona is involved in so many lawsuits that I've lost track at this point.   :-D

I did make the same observation to my sister about him robocalling in Arizona.  Seems like a waste of money.  I mean, our frothy tea partiers hate - HATE! - Obama to the point that a large number of them would happily put a bullet in his head.  These are not the people that you need to be selling on overthrowing the government...they're already on board for that.

I'm now getting robocalls from Mike Huckabee. W! T! F!

It's a year and a half until election time.  W! T! F!

Also, as a side note, Huckabee's robocall starts with something about "You need to know that Obamacare will DESTROY AMERICA".  Now, whether you agree with nationalized healthcare or not, isn't it a little.......alarmist(?) to suggest that this will DESTROY AMERICA.

Fuckers.

Homework Help / Re: Pythagoras

It's Charlize Theron's non-famous older brother.  If you just google some pics of Charlize Theron, you'll see Pythagoras in the background on a few of her red carpet pics.  He's the one with the longish dark blond hair.
