Not sure if this counts as Political or Anarchy, so I'm taking a gamble here, folks.

I have a feeling that the line about "not politically motivated" is a load of horse shit.  Let me make one thing clear. I am no fan of Doonsebury. I find Gary to be an utter, complete, talentless sack. However, (there's always a 'however') was it necessary to remove the strip entirely? Perhaps it should have been moved to the Editorial pages, along with B.C. and Mallard Fillmore.
(also written by a talentless sack, only this one leans to the right.) What do you all think? Is it a 'the people have spoken' or 'OMG CENSORSHIP!!1!"

I'm guessing the paper caved to interests.

I like Doonesbury occasionally, but then again, it has a character based on Hunter S. Thompson, so I'm biased.

The only guy I can ever relate to is Uncle Duke.

I can relate to the garbage man from Dilbert.  I also have my moments when I'm like Phil, the Prince of Insufficient Light.

You can't say you relate to only uncle Duke, Zonker is of the same composition just laid back instead of crazy.
I'm a little biased because I grew up with the old ones strewn all over my house, some of my first books were Doonesbury from the 70's collections. I think back in the day it was amazing, beyhond compare. It really falls into a Marlon Brando category now-a-days, still acclaimed for its past but also still worth giving the respect to.
It can stick around as long as he wants for all I'm concerned, there are far worse comics out today. Have you ready the funnies lately? Yuck

The Asbury Park Press over here has always, to my knowledge, kept Doonesbury on the editorial page, so SUCK ON THAT, UNDIFFERENTIATED EGO MASS OF JINGOISTIC THROUGH PROCESSES!!!
