Tomorrow will be Pbsaurus's First Annual Media Free Day:

Seeing as tomorrow is the fifth anniversary of the attacks on the WTC, and seeing what has happened with the other four. I have decided to make tomorrow my first annual media free day. I will watch no television, listen to no radio, read no newspapers or newsmagazines, and not surf the web at all. Because frankly I'm sick of it. Sick of hearing about it. Sick of them all rehashing it. I remember that day and the weeks following it. Enough already.

I'm posting this for two reasons, one to let y'all know that I won't be online tomorrow. One to suggest that you all join me and spread the word. Maybe if we all boycott the media on the anniversary each year, they will get the point. Probably not, but I'm an idealist (Sandy says I'm insane, not an idealist).

Anyway have a nice September day tomorrow for I'll be incommunicado.

Personally, I want to see more of 9/11. I am not sick of it. I want to see the same story beiong told over and over and over, but from different view points each time. In the last few days, I watch a CBC show called "The Falling Man" which focuses around one powerfull picture taken which depicts a man in free fall because her jumped (or was pushed) from the tower to his death. The story focuses on the "jumpers" of 9/11. Another show presented the information about ow toxic ground zero really way and how tousands of workers are now sick and some dying from being exposed to the hazourdas environement, and how the governemnt that onces proclaimed them to be hero's is now refusing to provide them with the proper long term care they desperately need. I watch another that explained how 9/11 came to be, starting from the 1st bombing attempt of the WTC to making the connections with Bin Laden, to the failure of the intelligence community which eventually failed to put the peices together in time, even tought they colletivelly had enough data to paint a clear picture well in advance. Another show discussed how the 9/11 inquiry was a complete joke. The man in charge of the inquiry said it himself. "It's like we were setup to fail: we were underfunded and were not provided sufficient time to conduct the inquiry." Did you know that the 9/11 inquiry was allocated 1/10 of the totl funds spent when Clinton was investigated for the Lewinski incident? This government apparently felt that investigating the greatest terrorist attack on US soil was worth about 1/10th of investigating blowjobs.

Indeed, I will watch all the 9/11 shows I can see, and preferably CBC shows if I can help it because they end to be the least biased in my oppinion.

Anybody catch Koppel on Discovery last night? The live Q&A portion of the broadcast was really interesting. I'm beginning to rethink my opinion of Tom Ridge.

I personally love how they continue to stress the fact about how we're still saluting the victims and such, when probably 10 times that amount of people have been killed in this country due to traffic, drugs, alcohol, or any of the diseases that could've been cured by stemcell research which Bush refuses to fund.

Exactly. Get over it. Move on. Anniversaries are supposed to be a time of celebration. Anyway, mine is this Saturday. What should one get a pregnant wife on their 17th anniversary. She doesn't need anymore power tools, so I'm at a loss and am entertaining suggestions.

She already has a bowling ball, as do I. However neither is engraved. Last year I bought her a biscuit joiner (power tool for those not in the know)

We have two ice cream makers and two vacuum cleaners. Oh yeah and the shop vac I got her for her birthday last year....

I guess I should start giving her things that have planned obsolescence that way I can give them again every few years..

She already has a router, and a table saw, and a drill press, power tools are out for now. We don't have enough room for a lathe, and I can't afford a Bobcat, although that would be cool!
