I've been poking around on the internet looking for someone who claims to know what the best whiskeys are. Thought I would include my good friends at Teh Geekery in this quest. Post whatever experience you may have with the drink be it small or large.

Personally, I have been on a Gentleman's Jack craze.

(I am only familiar with American Whiskeys for the most part but feel free to enlighten me on other types as well)

Their single malts are yummy too but I find the Black Bush spot on and affordable.
 
I just had a Glen Grant, that was ok too. Now, I only drink whiskey when I have the time to enjoy it. Meaning when going out I drink beer. If I had would have a shot in a bar then JD is ok.

There are some great Scotish whiskeys out there, but I tend to stick to JD.

I clearly need to respect my heritage more...

I love JD, but it's not hard to satiate me with any kind of whiskey. Except Seagram's. I hate Seagram's with a passion. Canadians have no place in the whiskey business.

I'm partial to JD and Wild Turkey, though.  :w:

There's also this stuff that was in our liquor cabinet for a while called "Celtic Crossing..." I don't think it is technically whiskey, but it does taste a lot like it. It's great, I'd recommend it: http://www.beveragewarehouse.com/search/more_info.php?item_id=2524

I've had some 7 and 7 before (Seagram's and SevenUp), nothing special. Wild Turkey does good by me.

Oh come on!  Alcohol is alcool, you just need to get it down you 'till it tastes good! =P

Even if you have to mix it, Scotch is great!
