Please... please... please...

Do not get him started on "The Brother's Karamazov" in an introduction thread.

I don't know, judging by some of the people you've had introduce themselves, one might argue they fall into that category. Not him, specifically, just saying.

I take credit for JosephK.

But again... please don't make him want to explain or defend the "K" here. We can take that to the "Books!" thread.

Yes.
...
Okay, fine. You want hear him get more eloquent...
What does the K mean?
(Be prepared for Dostoevsky overload.)
Besides, at least he made an intro post. His original intention was not to do so. I had to warn him that he would be burned in the fires of internet effigies if he didn't.

You're sarcasm is appreciated.
Defending people is really a reflex reaction, by the time I realize I should've kept my mouth shut, I'm already committed.

So, he's more special and uniquer than most?

He's a good conversationalist... just sucks at starting them.

... no clue

uniquer.... uniquer... put an emphasis on the "u" instead of the "niq" and it's sounds like a gas station. U'-ni-quer.
I'm gonna be saying that all night.

Exactly how I was reading it, except "quer" was pronounced "ker." Sort of like unicorn.

There is nothing wrong with Dostoevsky. But the Brothers Karamazov was easily his weakest work. So there.

Crime and Punishment was assigned reading in 7th or 8th grade. I didn't like it. In fact, that whole lot of pre-Revolutionary purple prose-monkeys depresses the hell out of me. Except for Gogol, he was fun, but then he was Ukranian and insane in a cheery way instead of insane in a morose way like Dostoyevski and Tolstoy. War and Peace --  I had to read that too. Christ.

And they ask me why I drink.
