Does a geek have to be super smart?
What's your definition of a real geek?

No.  Super intelligence is not required for one to be a geek.

I personally think that a geek is anyone who is very involved with, or very knowledgeable about any one particular subject which is not his/her profession.

I got grandfathered in under the biting-off-chicken-heads definition.

I didn't know your son had a girlfriend.

Anyway, intelligence is relative.  A geek just has some of that french phrase.

A geek is someone who gets all gushy and excited over one or more topics and is more than interested in it.

Around here most of the geeks go for a plethora of topics, making us geeky over general knowledge with an option to be specifically good at a few things.

....is what I think.

So no, not smart...just avidly interested.

If a 2nd language is a matter of intelligence I suggest you all drop down on your knees and worship me.
