Move the last set of 9 to the beginning of the sequence...

12X2-0=24,+4=28,-8=20,X2-0=40,+4=44,-16=28,X2-0=56,+4=60
13X2-1=25,+4=29,-8=21,X2-1=41,+4=45,-16=29,X2-1=57,+4=61
14X2-2=26,+4=30,-8=22,X2-2=42,+4=46,-16=30,X2-2=58,+4=62

The 18th number in the original sequence has to be 62 instead of 60 for this pattern to hold.

But I still don't get it...

There'd have to be some pretty remarkable medical breakthroughs in the next few years for me to see that.

Altough Ivan's number analysis was deemed way to advance for today's civilization, I find it interesting that there is another pattern in there, one which includes the number 31.

Ivan broke it down as:
13,25,29,21,41,45,29,57,61
14,26,30,22,42,46,30,58,60
15,27,31,23,43,47,31,59,63
12,24,28,20,40,44,28,56,60

I find it interesting that the 3rd number from each end repeats itself on each line, and that on the 3rd line, that number is 31.

12,24,28,20,40,44,28,56,60

Ivan's overthinking pays off! YES!

Interestingly, I could draw another conclusion that would be accurate IF the 18th number was indeed 62 instead of 60 as Ivan pointed out in his analysis. Had this been the case, then only the numbers that I have underline would be duplicated. Every other number would be unique.

Of course, it's all irrelevant, but thanks for reading!
