Welcome, Alex.

I've been to Iceland, briefly, while on my way back to the US from Scotland a few years ago.  I visited the Blue Lagoon since I had time to kill.

My next vacation spot is probably going to be Reykjavik.  I was really amazed by what I saw on my short visit to your country and I'm really looking forward to going back.  For longer this time, like at least 4 or 5 days so I can see more than the Keflavik airport and some warm, blue-colored water.  :)

Thanks a lot :) And yes, you should definitely come here. I know the area around Keflavík and the Blue Lagoon is gorgeous, but that is JUST the beginning!

You need at least 100 posts in order to give coolio points to other members. Also, members who can give coolio points must wait at least one hour in between transactions. There are only two people that don't have to wait the hour though.

Okay, thanks a lot :) So I'm guessing the Admins don't have to wait? Also, if I'm not annoying you with a billion noobie questions, do the Coolio points have any say in your "destiny" on the boards, that is, say you get a whole bunch of negative ones and not a single positive one, are you gonna get banned or something?

I'm impressed. Someone actually knows about "the main site".

Coolio points are something that you get when another member thinks your post was useful and gave back to the community in which case they give you a positive coolio point. However, if you post something that has no value to the community you will most likely receive negative coolio point from some members.

Ah, okay. Thanks a lot for explaining it. One more question: Is everyone able to give out Coolio points or does it require a specific post count or rank?

Also, yes, I know about the main site :P Although I did find the forums first, it's not that hard to miss...  :-o

At work.

Phone rings, I answer it.
Man: Oh, hey, there's something wrong with the internet on my laptop. I can't access any web sites or log into MSN.
Me: Have you tried restarting your router?
Man: What's a router?

Helping some random girls at school with a history project.

Girl: So, okay, Piza's Tower, that's in France, right?
Me (dying inside): No, it's in Piza. In Italy.
Girl: Wait, so where is the Eiffel Tower?
Me: ......... /system overload

I gotta say, I kind of agree with The_FOO. When I watched Venture Bros, and mind you I did start from the first episode in the first season, I was still kind of lost, not that the plot was confusing nor the jokes, but it's chaotic somehow and all over the place. I am NOT saying that Venture Bros isn't funny, 'cause it is, but when it comes down to it, the average times I laugh out loud over Family Guy vs. the average times I laugh out loud over Venture Bros, it's like a 10:1 thing.
Which means:
Family Guy = more entertaining.
Entertainment = very good, the point of watching the shows in the first place.
Conclusion = Family Guy > Venture Bros.

I popped your Coolio Points cherry.

You can repay me next time I'm in Iceland.

I don't really know what that means, but thanks! Haha. I know that it's the points above my avatar, but the whole +1/-0 thing, I don't really get. Have been trying to look around for info about it, haven't found it yet. Is it on the forums or the main site itself?

Welcome. Thanks for the great introductory post. It sounds like you're going to fit in well here.

I've always wanted to go visit Iceland, it looks really beautiful from various pictures and movies I've seen.

Thanks, and no problem - I tend to write a LOT once I get started. And yes, Iceland is beautiful - I love it here, grew up here and have lived here all my life (not counting 4 years I spent in Denmark).

Welcome.

Thanks :)

Welcome! May I complement you on your introductory post? Also, your pictures are really cool and Damien Rice is awesome. That is all.

Yes, you may - and thank you! :) Damien Rice is awesome, I took a lot more pictures, but have yet to upload them to my deviantart. Thanks for the compliment on the pictures, there will be coming more soon, by the way.

Heya everyone.

My name is Alexandra, I'm 20 years old and I live in Reykjavík, Iceland. I found this forum when I was googling some sort of place for geeks to hang out, and I've looked around a little. Like it, so I figured I'd join in on the fun!

I'm currently finishing what's called college here in Iceland before I move on to University, which will be in January of next year. I'll be studying history and religion, topics that are extremely interesting to me.

I'm a computer geek, and I work for an telephone/internet service company here in Iceland. Most of my time I spend selling internet service and upgrades to people, some of my time I spend answering unbelievably stupid questions when people call in for help.. Last week I had a guy call whose internet connection was down. I advised him to restart his router, then he said "What is a router?". I was dangerously close to laughing my ass off.

Most of my time I spend playing computer games, I like MMORPGs, FPS and RTS games, so basically, I like a LOT of games. These days, I'm trying out Age of Conan (like it so far), waiting for Diablo III to come out, playing good old stuff like Warcraft III, Quake, etc. I did play WoW for a while, but got incredibly sick of it, but if I know myself, I'll be renewing my gamecard once The Wrath of The Lich King (expansion) comes out, just to try it out.

Hmm let me see, let me see. I also spend my days watching movies and shows, I'm a big movie fan and like a lot of different movies. TV shows that I like include the typical; Family Guy, Drawn Together, South Park, Venture Bros, Battlestar Galactica, etc. My absolute favourite TV show of all time though is Star Trek, and I love the Originals. I'm also an "in-the-closet" reality tv addict (but don't tell anyone!).

I can't really think of anything else to say, so.. If there are any questions, I'll answer them :)

Edit:

Oh, forgot. I also love music. I have a very wide taste, but for the most part it's some sort of metal that I'll be listening to.

My favourite bands include Pink Floyd, Tool, Opeth, Nine Inch Nails, and more.

Also, I'm interested in photography and take some shots now and then, you can check them out at http://www.alexandradilja.deviantart.com .

And one last thing, if anyone is on LiveJournal, mine is http://geeky-alex.livejournal.com .

Edit, again (!):

Also, I love pen&paper RP games, and I play D&D regularly. Also, I tab browse in an extreme way. I don't know why, but that just came to mind.
