Title: Anyone want to have some fun? =)
Post by: snyperx on August 14, 2002, 02:47:59 PM
IP: 204.210.86.124
DNS: dt032n7c.maine.rr.com

"2002-08-04 04:42:55  Telnet Abuse  dt032n7c.maine.rr.com   31"
that's the date, the offense, the dns, and the number of times

Not much I can think of to do, so I turn to you.  I don't know who that is, and Chris said it's to be expected, I haven't had a single attack from anyone since that night.  If anyone can think of any ways to extract (legal?) revenge, please let me know?

Attacks, like I said before, are common nowadays on the internet. You have script kiddies that try and break into computers because they thought of a random IP address in their same block (or TOTALLY random) and try to break into it for god knows what reasons.

Nothing to worry about. (You know, incase someone else reading this is wondering what to do incase something like that happens to them)

It's best to forward all your abuse logs to Road Runner.  They're usually pretty good about solving problems regarding their users.  Trying to connect to something isn't really a crime and no real damage is being done so far but I'd defiantly contact them.

It's like going up to someone's door and turning the knob. If it's open they'll more than likely go in, and if it's not, they'll go to the next house.

I don't know about the whole trespassing thing... it's not like they were on your property...yet.

i can sit here all night and i'll get around 20 attacks from various random ip's, but not as many that are so persistant. basically all i do is ban any ip that does any attacks or sub7, backorifice, and other trojan scans. reporting them doesn't really help because there are so many more.

I don't think attempts are worthy of reporting.  Waste of time.  And, it's just an attempt, it's not like the actually got in and, oh say, deleted everything in the registry.

yea, thats why i don't report them, any way, it could just be experimental and no harm would have been done if it was sucessful (yea, i know bullshit)
