It was the Explorer of the Seas- we did a Caribbean cruise last year.I just got back from a cruise on Empress of the Seas in April and was on the Serenade of the Seas a couple of years ago. I thought it looked like a Royal Caribbean ship.

My neighbor Scott and I sometimes stand out front on the sidewalk talking. Most of the time, it is idle chit-chat about what's going on in our lives and things that we like. Sometimes, we discuss personal information, but not regularly.
Not long ago, a new neighbor moved in. His name is Mike. We saw his moving van and, as he was walking in one day, we greeted him cordially. He seemed nice enough.
Later, we'd see him sitting on his porch or trimming his lawn with one of those old fashioned hand trimmers. We knew he was listening in on our conversation, but we didn't care. We weren't discussing family secrets or anything. Once in a while, when we were standing there talking, I swear I've heard him giggle. It's all good.
Eventually, he approached us during one of our conversations. He introduced himself and explained that he'd really like to participate in our chats. He even made reference to one of our pseudo-inside jokes. I don't think he fully understood it, but he made an effort. He even bought us some pizza that first night. Our new neighbor is funny, bright and dresses nice (not that there is anything wrong with that). Now, sometimes, we'll chat with each other without Scott and I've seen he and Scott chatting without me. It's fun having another person that shares our lives.

Jason, if you're reading this, the following is just for you.
I didn't get an attitude and I didn't push the issue (I think that's the way you put it and I can't be bothered to go back and look.) I merely pointed out that even though you were making an effort, you could certainly do more. Commas come and commas go and we all make mistakes and get lazy with them. However, missing a question mark and putting 'how' instead of 'who' just seemed lazy. If I had a dime for every time I reviewed and changed my post before hitting submit, I could drive down to Norwalk and buy you lunch - in my Hemi Powered Dodge Ram 1500 (so that's no small feat.) It really doesn't take that much effort to review your comment. The beauty of an internet forum is that it's slower paced than a chat room. You have all the time in the world to format your post, consider your comments and how they will be taken by others when they read them. There's really no point in using chat room shorthand or neglecting the review process.
Sure, once in a while, every single one of us will post a short quip that lacks thought, review, punctuation, grammar and sometimes even lacks humor. But, that's the exception, not the rule. Chris, the forum's admin, wants to grow the forum and gain membership and I'm sure he'd like to have you around. You seemed to be fairly intelligent and able to contribute in a meaningful way. Please take a moment to reconsider your approach to the forum and the use of the English language and give it another shot. We're really not a bunch of grammar Nazis, but we do appreciate some effort to conform to the standards we've set.

Not at all. I know it's confusing. I was born in San Francisco, of Russian descent, and grew up bilingual. My family moved to the USSR when I was 11. I finished high school in Moscow, worked a couple years, then was compelled to return to the US when I was 19. I still read and understand Russian very well, but when I talk I'm a little rusty, and I sound like a 19-year-old. I make a lot of hay over those 9 years, but they were intense. Haven't posted one in a while and since I was updating my photo elsewhere and somewhere else, I thought I'd do it here too.
I haven't brewed in years, but I had some pretty good results. I mostly used the so-called "beer in a can" pre-hopped malt extracts. Add sugar and a little water, boil, pour into more water in a carboy, drop in the yeast, slap on a fermentation lock, wait, bottle, wait, drink. Serious home brewers scoff at "beer in a can" brewers, of course, but it can't be denied that the results can be great. And after amortizing the equipment, I got the cost per 12 oz bottle down to 11 cents (10-20 years ago).
The biggest bugaboo were the bottles. You need sterile, nice looking bottles that can be capped, and lots of them. Home brewers get pecuniary and fascistic about their bottles. They guy who introduced me to homebrewing would not let you touch his bottles of beer, far less drink from the bottles. He's pour the beer into a glass, then immediately rinse the bottle with hot water. If you don't do that, and if you leave so much as a speck of beer in the bottle, you'll be soaking it in bleach solution before the next bottling.
I've used purchased bottles, but that seriously raises the cost of production. I've used reclaimed bottles, but that took hours and hours and hours of soaking to remove labels, bleaching, scrubbing. My best solution was to use reclaimed mineral water bottles. We drink a lot of mineral water. So for my last several batches I saved all the bottles with their screw tops, and didn't even bother to remove the labels unless they were given as gifts. I figured the bottles were already sanitary enough, and I never had a problem. The only iffy part was the screw tops, because the final fermentation occurs in the bottle, and the caps have to withstand some pressure. But since the mineral water was carbonated, I figured the caps would be sturdy and airtight enough even when re-used, and again I never had a problem. Another plus -- these were 1 or 1.5 liter bottles, so I didn't need as many.
But even that got to be a little too much. I tried my hand at home wine making, with some decent results, but that was even more hassle and mess. Around that time, I changed jobs, and lost a lot of my free time, so I had to let these hobbies go.
I will some day return to either or both, but with some changes. If I make wine again, it will be in barrels. If I home brew beer again, I will not bottle the beer -- I'll use a keg.
Home brewers are sexy.
