Political Opinions / Progress?
« on: April 16, 2009, 12:22:06 PM »
Destruction is an inherent feature of Development.

 Progress = Destruction of Nature.
 Development = Destruction of Nature.

 We can have Sustainable Lifestyle.
 We cannot have Sustainable Development.

 Development can never be sustainable.
Sustainability and Development cannot exist together.

 Development and Sustainability are opposites.
 Development and Sustainability are contradictory.

Sustainable Living is associated with consuming less – being satisfied with a simple and frugal life.
Development is associated with never ending desires – always wanting more.

 Sustainable lifestyle requires Constancy.
 Sustainable lifestyle requires Sameness.
 Sustainable lifestyle requires Repetition.

 Development is associated with Change.
 Development is associated with New.
 Development is associated with Transience.

Industrial Societies can never be sustainable – When you make thousands of consumer goods you kill Nature - you kill Animals, Trees, Air, Water and Land.

A Society that does mental work [city based] can never be sustainable - it will keep on making consumer goods - destroying the environment moment by moment.

Only agriculture-based societies that do physical work can be sustainable.

The term Sustainable Development is like the terms

 Stationary Walk.
 Silent Talk.
 Wakeful Sleep.
 Dark Sun
 Gentle Torture.
 Dry Rain.
 Peaceful War.

Writer's Block / Fighting Evil?
« on: April 16, 2009, 12:02:42 PM »

do those of you who "fight evil" realise that by doing so, you're only sharpening the claws of evil? that which does not kill, makes stronger... sound familiar?
by pushing against, you are giving power.
the door that opens only with the gentle touch.... or rather, stop pushing on a pull door!

this realisation started to dawn on me from the thousands of hours playing diablo... while considering violence as "evil" (for lack of a better term), repeatedly destroying the three prime evils, who always came back, it seemed to me like fighting fire with fire.

its the same kind of mistake (which i'm not immune to either, i've slipped into this mentality often) where the tyrant or the fascist is defeated by an act of dominant control, such as killing said tyrant or fascist. that act itself is fascist, to exert ultimate control over another via destroying it, forget the old axiom that overthrowing violent tyranny with violent revolt breeds a violent tyranical aftermath, the very process was the same, let alone what comes after.

no... if you are to "defeat evil", you must do it within. the old teachings still ringing true today amidst all our distractions.
and remember, it's not a push door.
the yin within must be subsumed into your whole, re-allow yourself to recognise your own perfection, in which you need not change a thing about yourself except to allow yourself to be yourself.

many a discussion i have had with others on various psychological states and conditions, such as narcissism, sadism/masochism, and arrogance. it's the same ultimately self defeating vein. lesser secondary mental forms such as vanity & pride too cannot be overlooked. the problem is, the more one suffers from these, the less likely they will be capable of recognising they are in a self defeating path. and we all have the potential for these to be in us. fortunately, we also all have the power to recognise these conditions, the power to overcome, the power to heal, the power to strengthen our better qualities. the power of love.

don't fight my lack of caps.

Writer's Block / Perception of Aesthetics
« on: April 16, 2009, 11:59:51 AM »
"Knowingly allowing oneself to percieve the world as anything less than we are capable is a grotesque evasion of the true nature of aesthetics."

What are aesthetics but a chaotic dance? It is not merely viewing the floor from an end table, but truly grasping the erradic and chaotic nature of its movements. It takes observation and perception before one can truly participate in the dance. Then again, knowing the movement of the masquerade is one thing. Perception is a completely foreign take on beauty. For, what aesthetic pleasure could a hideous, uncoordinated swing deliver? Implications of orchestrative chaos.

Again, it is not the way we see the dance that matters! The saying goes, "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder", which thus forth allows us to realize that the chaotic nature of our existence is utterly and purely subjective.

The object is not what is beautiful. It is not the chair you are sitting in, the paper this is written on or the moon that lights this page. It is the raw and unfiltered perception of aesthetics that equates the correlation between fantasy and reality.

But, what is fantasy, you ask?

We created it, of course! The imaginative perception of a world that does not exist, influenced by our own world, which does. To properly concieve the former, we must be utterly aware and all knowing of the latter.

On a clear day, peer to the horizon. There is no knowledge of what lies past it, but sensical and scientific knowledge tells you that there is indeed something there.

We all possess the ability to assess and analyze the world.. In blissful ignorance that the person next to you is looking at it in a completely different sense of aesthetics. Would this not affect our perception of fantasy?

If early religious philosophers had percieved the act of sex as the most hideous of agonies, the concept of eternal damnation (as we see it today) would consist solely of a neverending orgasm!

What of human interaction and politics? Merely human entities acting upon there proper analysis of the world around them and how it should be in their eyesm but using that perception and clever deception to influence the beings around them.

"Wherever you look, there is something to be seen"

Know this, and be wary; The stars you gaze into tonight, basking in the pleasure of aesthetics and formation of fantasy, will infuriate and scorn the eyes of many more tomorrow.

Writer's Block / (No Subject)
« on: April 16, 2009, 11:40:34 AM »
Ranting,

to Rant.

to passionately ramble.

Though as i age i grow increasingly despising of linguistic communication, verbal communication, label based language, words, i still use them through this medium. Powerful and Imperfect. Rendered near meaningless in their imperfection, but left so over-gunned in their power of imposed meaning, of implied meaning too? Dazed and Confused? Lost and Confused? Needy and Confused? Confused?........ ? CONFUSED? .... Confused and Confused? Confused.

Without confusion we cannot be aware of our lack of understanding. understanding that we do not understand be the first step. walk this step forever somewhere in the mind so to never become of the thinking that understanding has been achieved, as there is always more to understand on the magical mystery journey of discovery.

can't carry more than you can. can carry more than i have. will carry more to come, carrying plenty for now, will be carrying plenty then, was carrying plenty before.

Laughter.
