If you ever have a problem in the future, download a tool called hijackthis
http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html it will just show a list of whats currently running, whats currently installed on IE, etc then you can check all the bad ones and it will delete them. It's a great supplement to spybot and ad-aware 12

I use WS_FTP LE, it seems to be very 'slim.' It is very fast, and free, too. The only thing that pisses me off is the fact that it makes WS_FTP.LOG 'files' everytime you upload something... but... i usually just search for them in windows and delete them all at once every once and a while..
