Hello. My name's Teliwhy, and I'm a geek. I found this site some time ago, and I read some of your posts and I, um, forgot where it was, but I found it a gain and so I registered. I enjoy sitting at my computer, playing video games, talking to people from far away I've never met and probably will not meet. I also enjoy Monty Python and the Holy Grail and I have a bad habit of typing ",um, " when thinking of words. Um, that's all, I guess. May your journey be prosperous, and the force be with you.

I enjoy sitting at my computer doing nothing as well. Especially on Saturday nights when I could be doing other things. Nothing beats just sitting there doing nothing.

I enjoy that too. Though occasionally, like once so far, a drunken stooge will get lost on the way to his room from the bathroom 2 doors down and end up in my roommate's bed. Woulda been funnier if my roommate was there, but since the stooge was much larger than my roommate, waking up in the middle of the night, I would have thought he was the Hulk or something; I should just lock the door to keep both Dr. Roommate AND Mr. Drunk out. But it doesn't matter anyway since I wasn't awakw the whole night and had to hear the apology the next morning.

Damn the school idiots. Having computers that crash every time I try to post a message. I told them I could build their computers and network and charge less than half than Dell for machines and old what's-his-name that networks here in town. But do they listen to me? No. They told me they didn't want me to do it because I would be able to get into the administration's computers. Well duh. I can do that without having done the network. Especially since Bozo did nothing but just slapped a few wires together in this school in the South where I'm the only one who actually knows what REALLY happens when you push the power button...

haha.. school computer admins everywhere are the biggest joke. As for the security reason they gave you teliwhy, they've got to be kidding. Assuming you know what you're doing, if you ran the network at least you'd be the only one with access to the 'secure' info as compared to just about everyone.

All the college stories bring up a curiosity -
How many of you here that are in college are actually majoring in something other than computer related fields?

Just curious as to whether all your knowledge is just for hobby purposes or for potential job purposes.

All my know-how (limited as it is) is purely for my own enjoyment. That way, if I screw up, I'm the only one that gets upset. I haven't fully decided what I'm going to do, but it's going to be science-related. either that, or I could hold a sign out on the street saying "Will work for bandwidth/pc parts."
