To comment, as soon as I saw this thread, Chris, I downloaded it ASAP. I tried it out for awhile, then found my computer to lag frequently, crash, cause errors in the kernel, etc. Strangely enough it never happened previous to that, and as soon as I removed the Stopper, the problems ceased.

Just curious to hear what you may have to say on the matter.

When I was using Windows 98SE, I couldn't run any popup blockers.  They all caused me to lock up and blue screen even more often than I did normally.

And back then Opera was teh sux0r, and Mozilla was too, so I was pretty much stuck with popups.

If you're still on 98 or ME, I strongly advise moving to a different OS.  Windows 2000 is pretty good in my opinion, and you can't go wrong with Mandrake Linux.  I've also heard good things about the new version of SuSE Linux as well.   8)

In my opinion it still kinda does, but I know a lot of people that like it.

To me it just seems to be slow, and lacking in a number of features that other browsers have had for a while now, and doing some things half-assed that other browsers do better.

What do you think Mozilla is missing Demo? I'm pleased with it, but don't want to be missing out on something...

It's way too slow for my taste.

It's been a few months since I've played around with it, so I don't remember off the top of my head.

Use a couple other browsers for a week or two, and THEN go back to Mozilla.

You'll probably see what I'm talking about.

BTW, I think sometimes it makes a difference what platform you're doing this on as well... for instance, Mozilla for Linux seems to be more stable and quite a bit faster than the Windows version, whereas I actually prefer the Windows version of Opera... I have encountered some weird, sporadic, flaky bugs in the Linux version of Opera.

Galeon (which is based off of Mozilla) is pretty nice, I might also add.  I believe it only exists in Linux form, however, so you might be out of luck on trying that one out if you don't have a Linux box.

One browser you should try for at least a week is MyIE2 though.  It's still the main one I use in Windows, and has been for about the last 6 months or so.

EDIT

Ooh, I just thought of something that I'd like to see in Mozilla.  Mouse gestures.  I've gotten horribly spoiled by having them in Opera as well as in MyIE2.

Galleon is very nice, and is the main browser I use on my Mandrake box.  Konqueror, which also came bundled with KDE, is more on the shitty side.

Konqueror is complete crap.

My wife is a Mac person, and she was getting ready to try the "Safari" browser on OS-X and I said "cool... they made a brand new browser for it?"

Then she told me, no, it wasn't completely brand new.  It was based off of something called "Konqueror".

I told her that if it was any good, I'd be quite amazed, because Konqueror is utter shite.

Safari does in fact appear to be quite a bit better than its origins imply... though it does also appear to have some fairly serious bugs in it.

But I don't use a Mac, so I'm not as concerned.
