Actually, I think the more pertinent question is: where do you keep getting all this money?

Are you loaded or something? I've got this dying aunt who needs a...um. leg...operation...baboon...leg it's tragic.

The important thing is that you've picked the right brand, that's for sure! I hardly got Sony notebooks in for repair during my job at The Pit. They are well made, last a long time, and come pretty loaded. Now, if you'd like an opinion on which one to get, then I'd need to know what you intend to use it for. What to you want to do with your future investment?

RIGHT!

They are two good laptops but personally, I'd go for the Z1WAMP1 because:

-It's cheaper
-It has a bigger screen (different type, but SXGA TFT is good enough)
-Bigger hard drive
-Faster CPU
-Bluetooth ready if that's a feature you are interested in
-The rest is the same except for RAM and video

I don't know what you want to do with this maching, or what your budget is, but 512MB RAM is sufficient for the average user. But you can upgrade if you wish.

The only downside to this laptop is the video card which has 16 Megs compared to 64 with the other one. But if you're not going to use this for serious gaming, then it's not really an issue.

i know i know... it is kinda shitty to only post when i need help. I'm a bitch; kill me. I mainly need the laptop for college, but would like to keep it and be happy with it until the end of time. my major is computer science, and i work like crazy to pay for college and all the tech nosehair clippers i need. this is mainly why i dont post that much because i am so damn busy.

If you're going to use this for the duration of the CS program, you don't want the small screen for sure.

Since it's hard to upgrade laptops without buying a whole new one, I'd suggest going with the tried and true motto: Bigger is Better.

Get the largest screen, HD, RAM, etc you can afford.

That's probably the problem. He's not getting any to begin with.
