A forum research (in need of respondents)
« on: February 08, 2006, 07:09:35 AM »

Greetings!

We are Communication Research students namely Eden Abais and Anjulix Patungan from Ateneo de Naga University, and we are conducting a research on the phenomenon behind Online Forums.

The study is dubbed as, "Message Board Phenomenon: Online Forums as a tool for Global Communication."

This study is very much in need of respondents.
It would be a great pleasure for us if you would find time answering the questionnaire we prepared. Your response will be of great help to our study.

We assure you that information given by the respondents are for research purposes only. It doesn't ask any contact information. Just your name (you can even put just your pseudonym), age and country since those are important variables for the study.
Thank you.

Here's the link to the questionnaire:
http://www.imgoingtodeletethislinkfromthispostbecauseitisspamandnoonelikespamandnoonelikesspamexceptforpeoplewholikespam.com

Poll closes on Febryary 11 2006
Thank You So MUCH!
We are pleased to have you as our respondent! HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I've got a better idea.  How about you introduce yourself in the n00b forum, read the FAQs and rules and get to know us before sending us to some URL we honestly don't know WHAT is hiding (seriously: we're not stupid here.  We don't go to random URLs blindly unless we know the person who posted it.  You haven't earned the benefit of the doubt yet.)

Maybe I'm coming across as rude, but it's a known fact that with all the phishing schemes, pyramid schemes, keylogging and password-stealing schemes, etc, you have to be careful where you go on the internet.  Following a link someone you don't know just happens to post in an online forum is a recipe for disaster.

You know, there are better ways to pleasure yourself...

Just your name (you can even put just your pseudonym), age and country since those are important variables for the study.

How is someone's name or alias an important variable? When conducting studies, if respondent names are required, then a consent statement is included on the questionaire. Furthermore, once the information is complied, respondant names are keept confidential and are replaced with a numerical code.

Sorry for being so anal, but I consider your post spam and I hate spam.

And the conclusion of their report:

"Message Board Phenomenon: Online Forums as a tool for Global Communication."

"people on online forums/message boards are very suspicious about new people on their boards, they have some document called the FAQ or the TOS which they hold to a higher value then George Bush does to the Declaration of Independence. Everyone who does not play by their TOS or does not wish to make a NOOB thread will be handled like a Danish cartoon in a mosque. Furthermore they are anally precise, if they find one flaw in one of your posts they will not hesitate to point out the mistakes you make."

Sincerely,

Eden Abais and Anjulix Patungan

I cast Lvl. 3 Eroticism. You turn into a real beautiful woman. :D

And as for your request, forget it. I'm in agreement with everyone else here. We won't simply click on a link because you put it there. 'Nuff said. Go elsewhere.
