A while back my old stereo system decided to crap out on me, and only work after messing with the headphone jack for about 10 minutes straight. I really didn't appreciate that, so I looked into a newer, more advanced stereo system. My old system was a Pannasonic 145 total watt 5 CD changed shelf system. It wasn't that bad for my needs. It had two 6 inch "supper woofers", and two decent 3.5 inch tweeters which delivered semi-good sound.

The new system consists of a Pioneer 500 watt X 5 channel receiver, an older ADC equalizer, one 8-inch 50 watt powered subwoofer, and two 5.5 inch shelf speakers.

Right now, you must be thinking, "What about a CD player or tape deck?". I really don't have a need for one anymore since most of my music is within the walls of my hard drive. I might considdered getting a new sound card to go with all this new stuff. For 30 bucks I think it'll be worth it.

I still cannot believe the sound that this thing produces, it's rather "sweet". Crisp "S" sounds from the speakers, deep bass from the sub, and a good amount of power and heat from the receiver itself.

I do realize I need another three speakers to make full use of the 5 channel system, as well as a new sound card that outputs the signal in dolby.

Here's some pictures:

How did you hook it up to the computer? Do you use onboard sound? How does that bass on that three six mafia song that you sent me sound?

It's hooked up via an RCA cable that I had for a while. The RCA cable supports left and right signals, and probably dolby as well. That cable is about 10 feet long and is from the sound card that I have (not onboard sound) to one of the inputs on the back of the equalizer, which then goes into the reciver itself.

The Project Pat song that I sent you sounds rather "swank", it hits about 10 times harder than before.

I find that you cannot get any better sound other than this way. Those computers speakers that they have don't compare once you get this all hooked up and going.
