That is the point of sarcasm! now for something meaningful

What is it to live without doing what you love? and what is it to do what you love without living?

*rampant idiocy*

You regged up yesterday and have done nothing but shit up the forums ever since. Why don't you take a break from you goal of rising to forums superstardom to actually lurk for awhile?

now hold on... I made one remark about trolls being above newbs... and then all hell broke loose on me... I have had almost nothing positive said to me the entire day I have been on this forum... If this is how you treat all new people you have no right to complain about how I act on here because almost everything I have said was in defense of myself and none of it was meant to be anything more than harmless banter(on my side) So do not start blaming me for how I respond to being treated like I am a lower life form...

So do not start blaming me for how I respond to being treated like I am a lower life form...
I was going to say all this really witty yoda-ish intellectual stuff in response to this line, but instead I think I'm going to keep it simple.
Actually, I can blame you for how you react to something. You made a conscious decision to react to something a certain way, instead of another. You have the power and the ability to choose to react another way.
Many people on this forum, myself included, feel that becoming beligerent and angry when a few people point out a few things about you're writing and presentation is unneccessary. Most of us (I think I can say this now), feel that going off in a huff because your wrong is downright childish.
I understand you will be joining the military soon. You should be warned and that these two choices are "generally" frowned upon there too.
Regardless, your reaction is still your choice, and I can blame you for choosing an unneccessary or childish reaction, when you didn't have to. You do have many other options.

Ahhhh.

I thought something looked funny, but my spell checker is broke at work (love that Websense).

Thanks!  :-D

- I have no excuses for the "your/you're" mistakes, other than, I was too lazy to do the fourth "preview>read>fix>preview>read".  :-P

There are more than three steps to that process.  If you're doing any less than six, you're short changing this forum.

These are the steps I take...
  • Think
  • Write
  • Read for grammar/spelling
  • Fix
  • Read
  • Evaluate for content
  • Fix
  • Read for grammar/spelling/content again - because fixing content can generate other grammatical/spelling errors
  • Fix

...repeat until satisfied.

I say just make sure what you're about to say is either intelligent, funny, or interesting before you hit Post.

Oh, and somewhat related to the posts before.  If you want to go off on a tangent, at least find a clever way to do it.

So who likes chorizo?  I loves me some.

Cherubim is plural; Genesis 3:24 specifies one flaming sword. Presumably flaming swords were in short supply."

Those are all good advice, but I've developed my own system over the years.

Here are my steps!

  • Pretend to think - I used to stroke my beard, but I don't have one any more, so I just scratch my head or rub my chin while squinting into the distance.
  • Write - I look at something in my room like Ray Bradbury would if he was in my room and then mash the keyboard until text appears on the screen.
  • Read for grammar/spelling - Once I've ensured that everything is spelled rightly and is correct in the grammar pants I then undo that and use whatever tickles my fancy at the moment.
  • Fix - I just scream the word "fix" really loud.
  • Read - pornography. Usually stories about the characters from Star Trek appearing in the Old West as I understand that happens a lot.
  • Evaluate for content - nope, nothing as per usual all is well!
  • Fix - Attempt to rig horse races and fail miserably because I don't actually do anything nor do I bet on the races.
  • Read for grammar/spelling/content again - might as well, but what good does it do at this point?
  • Hit the Post button and hope no one figures out where I live.

  • Normal State- Drop cursor in Quick-Reply, type a sentence or half, scroll back up to the top of the page and go back to The Geek Forum - Brought to you by The Geekery.
  • OCD / Happy / Manic State- Drop cursor in Quick Reply, hit Preview, type a few sentences, Preview again, type a few more sentences, Preview again, CNTL+A, CNTRL+C, open Notepad, CNTRL+V, type more words, sentences, etc, fuck with the formatting; guessing where the "carriage return" should be and putting those in, making sure each line is more or less equal in length...  CNTRL+A. CNTRL+C, ALT+TAB, Drop the cursor in the Message Window, Preview, ALT+TAB, make formatting changes (or "FIXes") to the screwed up sentence-lengths and line breaks, CNTRL+A, CNTRL+C, ALT+TAB, CNTRL+A, backspace, CNTRL+V, Preview, decide on better ordering of talking points, Duplicate Tab and go find posts needed to quote in new talking points setup, copy posts into New Notepad, edit posts to support my position and fit well with sentences I've already typed, copy and paste edited quotes into postion in "untitled" Notepad, CNTRL+A, CNTRL+C, ALT+TAB, CNTRL+A, backspace, CNTRL+V, Preview, ALT+TAB, and code out anything I missed or havent gotten to yet, format the line-spacing to be easiest to read, CNTRL+A, CNTRL+C, ALT+TAB, CNTRL+A, backspace, CNTRL+V, Preview, ...
Check "Who's Online"... Check for New Posts...  back to Reply tab, read it over once again as if I just posted it, you know; when the HURRr shows up, back in the Message Window, CNTRL+A, CNTRL+C, ALT+TAB, to the "untitled" Notepad, CNTRL+A, backspace, CNTRL+V, CNTRL+S, go fix a glass of tea, Check "Who's Online"; check for New Posts in the thread I'm going to post in, close Firefox and open it back to just the Geekery, go straight to the thread I want to post in, straight to the Quick-Reply box, ALT+TAB (to the "untitled" Notepad), CNTRL+A, CNTRL+C, ALT+TAB (back to Firefox), -which should still be at the Quick-Reply box- drop the cursor in the box and CNTRL+V, POST. Immediately close Firefox and reopen it and go straight to the "new" post and survey it for identicality to the Preview. If no discrepancies are noted, then, well, I guess I should be pretty close to tying up the loose ends with that particular post.  :|
  • Apathetic / NOT Happy / Mean- Drop cursor in Quick-Reply, type out my seemingly well-thought-out but overly abrasive argument, Preview, see all kinds of holes in argument, ALT+TAB to Mod Console, Ban offending user.

Many people on this forum, myself included, feel that becoming beligerent and angry when a few people point out

obviously someone cant read that it was all harmless banter on my part as I said in my post. I was not angry once at the corrections to my posts I was being playful when i responded to the corrections to my posts. The only thing I even came remotely angered at was the fact that after I agreed to try and use proper grammar to the best of my abilities you continued to lecture me but not about the fact i was using improper grammar but that I AGREED TO USE PROPER GRAMMAR TO RESPECT OTHERS WISHES... If you ask me the fact that you(the forum in general) scolded someone for agreeing to follow the rules is belligerent in itself. now honestly I did not expect to get so many replies so once i finish reading them all I will reply to each one if needed...

There are more than three steps to that process.

...

If I was too lazy to the fourth step, of course I was too lazy to do the fifth and sixth! I certainly didn't want to repeat the process! I was satisfied with one, two and three, with one time around.
What did you think? All the time I spend lurking here at night, I haven't learn by now. I was just damn lazy when I posted that.  :-D
