I don't agree with the video and actually responded to the person who sent this to me with a very long email on what I didn't like about it. Just wanted to get some discussion going in this forum and see what everyone else thinks. I hope I don't cause any blood shed.

Now with the church is definitely a black mark on the guy and I know that. But he did leave the church, and I wouldn't be surprised if his pastor was using Obama's publicity as a way to spout off his own politics.

I am an independent and I hate to see stuff like this. Basically why I don't like getting involved in politics most of the time. It's just too much BS about people that one side believes as truth when the exact same thing is happening on the other side. I support Obama in these elections because I think he is the lesser of the two evils. He at least represents change to me compared to McCain wanting the same things to continue. However now the person who sent this to me marks me as a liberal and was actually kind of offensive when he sent me the video. Just ticks me off. I like the policies the game claims he wants to uphold. I don't care about his religion, his name, his parents religion, or what somebody decides to hang in Houston.

Oh and it's not unpatriotic to not have your hand over your heart. That is only for the pledge and many other leaders have not placed hand on heart during the anthem. Also I think putting the flag on a pin is just as bad as putting on underwear.

Also I have yet to see Iron Man

Your logic needs a little cleaning up. This video is not directed towards conservatives -- they already mistrust Obama because he's a liberal. The video is an attempt to smear Obama as a manchurian candidate, to seed the liberal camp with doubt. The only way you can parallel that with McCain is to propose (perhaps preposterously) that he was brainwashed in Hanoi Hilton and is a ticking timebomb waiting to be activated.

Attacking him based on his name is legitimate because your average American sports a 10th grade education and a 3rd grade reading level. If you want to reach a particular audience, you have to relate to them on their level. Further, he does have not one, not two, but three Muslim names. So there.

I can't believe that you fell for him "leaving the church"! Go back and look at WHY he said he left the church. He didn't denounce anything that Rev Wright said. He left the church because too much attention was being brought upon the members of the church. He sat in the pew (pew pew pew) for twenty years listening to that man spew his hatred and vitriol. He stood before that man and recited his wedding vows. He allowed that man to baptize his children. I'm waiting for someone to ask him VERY specific questions about the things that Wright said and ask him how he believes.

The flag pin thing is weak and a stupid issue. As is the hand over the heart thing. I don't put a pink ribbon on the back of my car but that doesn't mean that I hate B(.)(.)Bies!

Also, go see Iron Man. It's worth full price. Hell, it's worth paying extra to see it in the director's hall (if your theater sports such a room).

I don't know what I gathered from the video is that they aren't attempting to market to the conservatives they can already count on, but the more moderate conservatives/swing votes. People that aren't dead set on voting Republican this year. Although good point about spreading doubt in the liberal camp. Although it may have caused more doubt in liberals if it didn't use so many shots from Fox News.

I feel that him leaving a church is a pretty strong statement, but under the terms I can see why it would be for the church more than him. I to am interested in seeing what he has to say about what he believes regarding the preachings. Definitely be interesting to hear what he has to say. Although with how well spoken he is most of the time I bet he has something already planned for that question.

No our theater doesn't sport a director's hall, but now that I have read up on that I wish it did.

Simply put its using broken logic to show Obama in a bad light. Is it a coincidence that most educated Americans prefer Obama to Hillary? With the same logic we can now say that only stupid people back Hillary? Broken Logic is just that, Broken. It would be my hope that a majority of American's do not believe all of this. Just for the record it is only customary to put your hand over your heart during the Pledge of Allegiance not during the National Anthem. So in actuality would it be Hillary and Edwards who are at fault for not knowing American customs and understanding when to and not to cover your heart?

OMG all those people I called communists for not acting properly during the national anthem, and now I realize I am that communist.

Seriously I am surprised they have a code of conduct. While that code states what you should do, I do not believe that a majority of people feel that way. Look at anywhere you go when the anthem is playing and most do not follow this fully. Customs can change I guess.
