A Geek in Need.
« on: January 16, 2009, 09:20:49 AM »

Fellow Geeks, lend me your ears and moment of your time.

I'd like you to help me win my fiancee some jewelry. We won a monthly contest with the story of my marriage proposal at her Graduation.

Now it's time for the Quarterly contest and we're in a dead heat with some other guy.

All I need you to do is go to the link below and follow these instructions.

Right above the name of the story, Acting on This Epiphany (the site picked the title as I didn't supply one), is a link to a pull down menu entitled "Quarter 4 2008 Best Proposal Stories Menu."
Open the menu and above the names of the stories is the word "VOTE".
Click Vote.
Then click on the radio button next to "Acting on This Epiphany"
Then click the submit button.

Here's the Link:

Edit: (01-17-09) Ok a quick update, apparently the site that is holding the contest has undergone an overhaul. The current link below is no longer active. I'm trying to hunt down the appropriate link but it appears that they have not made the contest voting live yet. Will update as soon as possible.

Please help me to win some nice wedding day jewelry for my fiancee. The site tracks by ip so only one vote per computer/network ip. Iphones count too, and feel free to vote from as many ips as you wish. I've got a friend who managed to get 4 votes between home, work, and his Iphone.

If we win, pictures are going to be posted with credits to you guys.

Thanks so much to those who decide to participate. It'll be a great help.

Gratefully,
Double

I'll make a deal with ya. I'll vote for you because you've had some quality posts here at Teh Forums; however, I won't explain the several ways you could change your IP because cheating is bad!

yeah I thought the

got that idea across. I used to work at an ISP so I know how the ips work  .

But do feel free to change up your ip and vote a few times. I'm sure the other guy I'm competing against is taking all the same steps I am. I consider this a Hack the Planet type of situation. Wake up call for the Nintendo generation and all that. You know with "Win Jewelry" in place of "Crash the Gibson".

Oh. Well that's a foot in my mouth if there's ever been one.  :-)

Just wanted to thank those of you who have voted, we're still gaining votes but have fallen behind. Right now it's 109 to 100.
