IRS says YOU pay tax on your Company Cell phone
« on: June 13, 2009, 08:04:41 AM »

http://www.nydailynews.com/money/2009/06/13/2009-06-13_irs_new_hangup_proposes_taxing_25_of_business_cell_phone_use.html

"The feds have proposed taxing 25% of business cell phone use as income.
That means someone who's in a 28% tax bracket and whose work cell phone costs their company $1,000 a year would pay $70 more in federal income tax."

I don't even have a company cell phone, and this makes me mad.  :x

Next, they'll say that 25% of your Internet surfing at work is personal and you have to pay tax on that benefit, too.

Did I say 25%?  Heh.

I wish I was in some 28% tax bracket... I'm in the 42% tax bracket. And on top of that, I pay layers upon layers upon layers of extra taxes. So stop complaining about some trivial $70  :-D

The reason we don't pay as much as you is because we complain when we feel it's appropriate instead of just accepting it. ;-)

Hehe, I suppose it is a little bit more complicated than that  :-D
Governments are like a black hole for money, that's probably universal. I'm surprised in America there's politicians that actually promise to reduce taxes. Never in my entire life have I ever had anyone announcing that here... they just bullshit you around and when they get elected they have the nerve to quietly raise taxes ever so slightly. Again and again. Might as well not vote. Assholes.

See what you made me do? Instead of being pissed over your $70 I am not pissed off over everything :)

Instead of being pissed over your $70 I am now pissed off over everything :)
That right there, my friend, is how the US was born.

That's the worst typo there is.  I've done that before too.  It completely makes opposite what you're trying to say.

I'm all for it, it doesn't affect me.  BizB's suggestion better not ever come to fruition though...
