Shit... you have rules and I follow. you seem to make them up as you go along too which is fine by me but give a guy a brake.
FFS Geeks are supposed to be nice to each other not behave like the monolithic man that never was.
You administer/mod 35+- people throughout the day on a forum you have chosen to do for free which probably covers subjects you actually like,
hell I like some of the subjects. I would prefer to be posting in the Technology bit but I got to post a minimum of 50 on shit I couldn't even half care about.
who cares about what I'm listening to, whats my favourite game or who the hell I am. I have been Flamed when I thought you did.
bottom line is I put up with 14,000 staff and students a week. log on issues, proxy issues, active directory issues. I honestly don't need more crap.
Ban me if your going to but for the love of Allah, God and Frank and Bennie's ice cream stop tugging on my balls I've been married 6 years they are about ready to fall off.

Regarding the 50 post requirement for the Technology forum, I'm not sure it was explained or not to you but in case it wasn't here is the reason why: People would swing by, register an account, ask a question they could easily answer if they used Google, then we'd never hear from them again. The Technology forum was becoming a deep swamp of dumb.

If you don't like the content of the threads for some reason or just plain don't give a good sweet feathery Jesus about them at all, then make a new thread about something you would like in the forums that you are allowed to post in. Personally, I like the "What are you listening to" thread because I've been turned on to some songs that I never even heard of before and actually quite enjoyed.

I'm all for people adding decent content to the site. When it gets too quiet around here, I'll generally think of something to make a new thread about. I'm sure you can too.

And yes, we actually do try to make an effort to care about new members. If we can get to know you as a human, with human qualities and likes and dislikes, there's a deeper appreciation than if you're just another random Joe Slapdick with an INTERNET TOUGHGUY chip on his shoulder trying to act a badass as if he's got something to proove.

Just be who you are and make some new threads about things you like. Trust us, we'll care.
