Linear time's a bitch like that.

I did away with linear time around a hundred years prior to my birth.

Now the time has come TIME!
There's no place to run TIME!
I might get burned up by the sun TIME!
But I had my fun TIME!
I've been loved and put aside TIME!
I've been crushed by the tumbling tide TIME!
And my soul has been psychedelicized TIME!

TIME!

TIME!

TIME!

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way
The time is gone the song is over. Thought I'd something more to say...

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Time and time and time
again
i've sought a perfect rhyme
time and time and time
again
it just comes to me
when
those times and times and times and times
i've searched for that one
word
i think that writing poetry is something quite
absurd
you balance on the tightrope and then sometimes
lose
your
nerve.........

Time for some Lou Reed:

This is no time for Celebration
This is no time for Shaking Heads
This is no time for Backslapping
This is no time for Marching Bands

This is no time for Optimism
This is no time for Endless Thought
This is no time for my country Right or Wrong
Remember what that brought

There is no time [x4]

This is no time for Congratulations
This is no time to Turn Your Back
This is no time for Circumlocution
This is no time for Learned Speech

This is no time to Count Your Blessings
This is no time for Private Gain
This is no time to Put Up or Shut Up
It won't no time to come back this way again

There is no time [x4]

This is no time to Swallow Anger
This is no time to Ignore Hate
This is no time to be Acting Frivolous
because the time is getting late

This is no time for Private Vendettas
This is no time to not know who you are
Self knowledge is a dangerous thing
The freedom of who you are

This is no time to Ignore Warnings
This is no time to Clear the Plate
Let's not be sorry after the fact
and let the past become out fate

There is no time [x4]

This is no time to turn away and drink
or smoke some vials of crack
This is a time to gather force
and take dead aim and Attack

This is no time for Celebration
This is no time for Saluting Flags
This is no time for Inner Searchings
The future is at head

This is no time for Phony Rhetoric
This is no time for Political Speech
This is a time for Action
because the future's Within Reach

This is the time [x3]
because there is no time

There is no time [x4]

Wake up, got another day to get,
Through now, got another man to see
Gotta call him on the telephone ay o
Gotta find a piece of paper
Sit down, got another letter to write,
Think hard, gotta get a letter just right
Little ringin on the telephone oh no,
Gotta write another letter

No such thing as tomorrow
All we want
Two, three, go!

Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Tickin in my head, tickin in my head, tickin in my head

If i, tell ya what Im doing today
Will you, shut up and get out of my way
Someone ask me what the time is, I dont know
Only know I gotta go now
No time, tryin ta get a watch repaired
No time, never got a thing to wear
Little ringin on the telephone
Oh no, hear a ringin in my head now

No such thing as tomorrow
All we want
Two, three, go!

Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Tickin in my head, tickin in my head, tickin in my head

No such thing as tomorrow
All we want
Two, three, go!

Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Time, got the time tick tick tickin in my head
Tickin in my head, tickin in my head
Tickin in my head!

I got so much trouble on my mind
Paranoia time
I'm running out of life
Clockwise and the seconds tick away
Each line that cuts my face
Cut as each hand moves into place

Paranoia
Amped and wired

Bile black the thoughts that run my head
There's so much to be said
They're so much living dead
Walking corpses shambling through life
With nothing in their sight
Dance on their bones, step in and fight

Paranoia
Amped and wired

Life and death are fighting for my time
I can't seem to find the time
I want what's mine
Time through the clock just keeps talking
It just walks any damn place
It feels like walkin'
My mind keeps thinking
Clockwise as the seconds tick away
I make my move today
Time and life
Life and time
To have and hold
And sometimes find
It isn't mine, it isn't yours
Man to man I'll fight you for
Time and life
Life and time
One day I'll get what's mine
Through the persistence of time
Life and death as words they don't mean shit
It's what you do with it
And how you live with it
Raging like a bull inside a cage
Just give me a stage
Where this bull can rage

Paranoia's got no hold on me,
Time don't have nothing
To do with how high you can,
Time don't got nothing
To do with how high you can count

Sitting on this barstool talking like a damn fool
Got the twelve oclock news blues
And Ive given up hope on the afternoon soaps
And a bottle of cold brew
Is it any wonder Im not crazy? is it any wonder Im sane at all
Well Im so tired of losing- I got nothing to do and all day to do it
I go out cruisin but Ive no place to go and all night to get there
Is it any wonder Im not a criminal?
Is it any wonder Im not in jail?
Is it any wonder Ive got

Too much time on my hands, its ticking away with my sanity
Ive got too much time on my hands, its hard to believe such a calamity
Ive got too much time on my hands and its ticking away from me
Too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands

Well, Im a jet fuel genius - I can solve the worlds problems
Without even trying
I have dozens of friends and the fun never ends
That is, as long as Im buying
Is it any wonder Im not the president
(hes not the president)
Is it any wonder Im null and void?
Is it any wonder Ive got

Too much time on my hands, its ticking away at my sanity
Ive got too much time on my hands, its hard to believe such a calamity
Ive got too much time on my hands and its ticking away from me
Too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands

It
A day to change your life, make it new and bright.
Business bound by people all around,
Bring him down like the rain, tie him down, ball and chain.
Hogtie him on the railroad line, waste-case that
Hear the church bell chime in the middle of your mind.
It
And built this shrine with the help of Father Time.

It
A home away from home, a place to roam;
It
It
Hogtie him on the railroad line, waste-case that
Hear the church bell chime in the middle of your mind.
It
And built this shrine with the help of Father Time.
With the help of Father Time.

Hogtie him on the railroad line, waste-case that
Hear the church bell chime in the middle of your mind.
It
And built this shrine with the help of Father Time.
With the help of Father Time.
With the help of Father Time.

No fear, no loss, no tears,
The time is almost here.
Our dreams will all come true, I promise you,
‘Cause I can see for miles and miles.
In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night).
In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right).
It’ll take time but we’re going far,
You and me, yes I know we are.
In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night.
All night.

One heart, one soul, one mind,
Our eyes will not be blind.
We’ll see this rain come down without this sound,
We can all, we can all break free.
In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night).
In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right).
It’ll take time but we’re going far,
You and me, yes I know we are,
In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
In time . . .

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night).
In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right).
It’ll take time but we’re going far,
You and me, yes I know we are,
In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night.
All night, we’ll be dancing,
We’ll be dancing, we’ll be dancing,
All night . . .
We’ll be dancing in the streets all night.
Dancing . . .
In time, we’ll be dancing . . . all night.
We’ll be dancing in the streets all night.

Curse you, you are going too fast.

Ah, Time:  yon grimmest of Sine Curves, cycling infinitesimally through the Seasons, larger still through the Generations, larger still through the Periods and Ages, and yet larger still through the mighty Eras, all upon the Great Linear Canvas, thou undulates inexorably towards the inevitable Undoing that awaits me; when I wax poetic, I waste thee, and I fear thou hast been wasted by those who have read, for whom grim Retribution awaits.  Beware, beware, dear Reader, beware:  Time will wait not for thee!

If I could save Time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you

CHORUS:
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

(Repeat Chorus)

Feed the people
Who don't have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the homeless
Living in the street
Ohwhoa, there's a solution.
Time keeps on slippin' slippin' slippin'
 Into the future . . .

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way I'd take back those words that hurt you and you'd stay

I don't know why I did the things I did I don't know why I said the things I said
Pride's like a knife it can cut deep inside
Words are like weapons they wound sometimes.

I didn't really mean to hurt you I didn't wanna see you go I know I made you cry, but baby

[Chorus:]
If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I'd take back those words that hurt you
And you'd stay
If I could reach the stars
I'd give them all to you
Then you'd love me, love me
Like you used to do

If I could turn back time

My world was shattered I was torn apart
Like someone took a knife and drove it deep in my heart
You walked out that door I swore that I didn't care
But I lost everything darling then and there

Too strong to tell you I was sorry
Too proud to tell you I was wrong
I know that I was blind, and ooh...

[Chorus]

Ooohh

If I could turn back time
If I could turn back time
If I could turn back time
ooh baby

I didn't really mean to hurt you
I didn't want to see you go
I know I made you cry
Ooohh

[Chorus #2]
If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I'd take back those words that hurt you
If I could reach the stars
I'd give them all to you
Then you'd love me, love me
Like you used to do

If I could turn back time (turn back time)
If I could find a way (find a way)
Then baby, maybe, maybe
You'd stay

[to fade]
Reach the stars
If I could reach the stars

My, my, my, my. You can't touch this. Music hits me so hard, it makes me say, "Oh my Lord thank you for blessing me with a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet!" It feels good when you know you're sown. Superdope homeboy from the Oaktown, and I'm known as such. And this is a beat-uh! You can't touch this.

I told you homeboy, you can't touch this. Yeah, that's how we living. And, you know, you can't touch this. Look in my eyes, man: you can't touch this. Yo, let me bust the funky lyrics. You can't touch this.

Fresh new kicks and pants -- you got it like that.  Now you know you want to dance, so move out of your seat and get a fly girl and catch this beat while it's rolling! Hold on... Pump a little bit and let 'em know it's going on like that. Like that. Cold on a mission, so fall on back -- let them know that you're too much, and this is a beat they can't touch.

Yo! I told you, you can't touch this! Why you standing there, man? You can't touch this! Yo, sound the bells -- school is in, sucker. You can't touch this. Give me a song or rhythm, making them sweat -- that's what I'm giving them. Now they know. You talk about the Hammer, you're talking about a show that's hyped and tight. Singers are sweating, so pass them a wipe, or a tape to learn what it is going to take in the '90s to burn the charts legit. Either work hard, or you might as well quit.

That's the word, because you know you can't touch this. You can't touch this. Break it down. Stop.

Hammer time!

Go with the flow. It is said that if you can't groove to this then you probably are dead. So wave your hands in the air, bust a few moves, run your fingers through your hair -- this is it for a winner. Dance to this and you're going to get thinner. Move, slide your rump just for a minute... Let's all do the bump.

Bump, bump, bump.

Yeah, you can't touch this. Look man, you can't touch this. You better get hyped, boy, 'cause you know ya can't, you can't touch this. Ring the bell -- school's back in. Break it down. Stop.

Hammer time.

You can't touch this, you can't touch this, you can't touch this, you can't touch this. Break it down. Stop.

Hammer time.

Every time you see me, the Hammer's just so hyped. I'm dope on the floor, and I'm magic on the mike. Now why would I ever stop doing this, when others are making records that just don't hit? I've toured around the world from London to the Bay. It's Hammer, go Hammer, M.C.Hammer, Yo Hammer, and the rest can go and play. Can't touch this.

You can't touch this, you can't touch this, you can't touch this. Yeah, you can't touch this. I told you, you can't touch this. Too hype -- can't touch this.

Yo, we outta here.

Can't touch this.

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
There's music in the air
The sleigh bells are ringin' and the carolers are singin'
While the air raid sirens blare

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
The button has been pressed
The radio just let us know
That this is not a test

Everywhere the atom bombs are droppin'
It's the end of all humanity
No more time for last minute shoppin'
It's time to face your final destiny

Well, it's Christmas at Ground Zero
There's panic in the crowd
We can dodge debris while we trim the tree
Underneath a mushroom cloud

(siren)

You might hear some reindeer on your rooftop
Or Jack Frost on your windowsill
But if someone's climbin' down your chimney
You better load your gun and shoot to kill

Oh, it's Christmas at Ground Zero
And if the radiation level's okay
I'll go out with you and see the all new
Mutations on New Year's Day

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
Just seconds left to go
I'll duck and cover with my yuletide lover
Underneath the mistletoe

It's Christmas at Ground Zero
Now the missiles are on their way
What a crazy fluke we're gonna get nuked
On this jolly holiday
What a crazy fluke we're gonna get nuked
On this jolly holiday

(siren)

They see me mowin'... my front lawn
I know they're all thinkin' I'm so white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Can't ya see I'm white & nerdy?
Look at me, I'm white & nerdy
I wanna roll with... the gangstas
But so far they all think I'm too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
I'm just too white & nerdy
Really, really white & nerdy

First in my class there at MIT
Got skills, I'm a champion at D&D
MC Escher, that's my favourite MC
Keep your 40, I'll just have an Earl Grey tea
My rims never spin - to the contrary
You'll find that they're quite stationary
All of my action figures are cherry
Stephen Hawking's in my library
My MySpace page is all totally pimped out
Got people beggin' for my Top 8 spaces
Yo, I know pi to a thousand places
Ain't got no grills, but I still wear braces
I order all of my sandwiches with mayonnaise
I'm a whiz at Minesweeper, I could play for days
Once you see my sweet moves, you're gonna stay amazed
My fingers movin' so fast, I'll set the place ablaze
There's no killer app I haven't run
At Pascal, well, I'm number one
Do vector calculus just for fun
I ain't got a gat but I got a soldering gun
"Happy Days" is my favourite theme song
I could sure kick your butt in a game of ping pong
I'll ace any trivia quiz you bring on
I'm fluent in JavaScript as well as Klingon
Here's the part I sing on...

They see me roll on... my Segway
I know in my heart they think I'm white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Can't ya see I'm white & nerdy?
Look at me, I'm white & nerdy
I'd like to roll with... the gangstas
Although it's apparent I'm too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
I'm just too white & nerdy
How'd I get so white & nerdy?

I've been browsin', inspectin'
X-Men comics, you know I collect 'em
The pens in my pocket, I must protect 'em
My ergonomic keyboard never leaves me bored
Shoppin' online for deals on some writable media
I edit Wikipedia
I memorized "Holy Grail" really well
I can recite it right now and have you ROTFLOL
I got a business doin' web sites
When my friends need some code, who do they call?
I do HTML for 'em all
Even made a home page for my dog
Yo, I got myself a fanny pack
They were havin' a sale down at The Gap
Spend my nights with a roll of bubble wrap
Pop pop, hope no one sees me... gettin' freaky
I'm nerdy in the extreme and whiter than sour cream
I was in A/V Club and Glee Club and even the chess team
Only question I ever thought was hard
Was, do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?
Spend every weekend at the Renaissance Faire
Got my name on my underwear

They see me strollin'... they laughin'
And rollin' their eyes 'cause I'm so white & nerdy
Just because I'm white & nerdy
Just because I'm white & nerdy
All because I'm white & nerdy
Holy cow, I'm white & nerdy
I wanna bowl with... the gangstas
But oh well, it's obvious I'm white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
Think I'm just too white & nerdy
I'm just too white & nerdy
Look at me, I'm white & nerdy

Should I be proud about being in second thus far if I only scored a 38%?

I just lost about eight hours of my time, specifially the ones that should have come  around nine hours from here. Dear lord I hate going to work on Saturdays...

That quiz reminded me of something I wasted time on.

I got my first soldering gun when I was nine, because I was a Girl Scout and DAMNIT, I knew how to use it. I had it until I was fifteen, at which point it pretty much desintegrated from overuse. So my father told me if I cut a mile's worth of grass, I could get a new one.

That was a LOT of lawns. I never made the mile, but I did get the soldering gun.

I have several soldering irons, one of which I got when I was around seven or so. I also have a full sized gun that I removed the casing from to mount on some sort of rapid prototyping system I designed midway and shelved.

Because I screwed it up.

It's fixed now.

Ahh, but if you're killing time and avoiding work, it is a good suggestion :-)

I have no time to kill and too much work to avoid.

I must be discerning in my choices. For instance, right now I have but a few moments to spare, and I choose to spend them on this post your gaze traverses as we speak. Well, "speak" in a figurative sense, certainly. So as you might imagine, or otherwise divine, either by means of intuition, forsight or an accumulation of past experiences similar in circumstance, albeit vastly differing in particulars (for indeed, whose experience can be thought of as unique in this sprawling, inclusive community of disparate types?), I therefore must leave other posts unread and yet others unposted, that latter being the greater loss, for a post unread is there none the less for others to do with what I myself have failed, but a post unposted fails to enlighten, comfort, amuse or touch, for it exists only in potent....

oops gotta go C U L8R
