Depends on what kind of sci-fi you are looking for, if you want a serious tone, I would say 1984 or the "Foundation" series. For a more humorous sci-fi the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is the way to go. To this day "The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide" (which is essentially a compilation of all the books in the series) is probably one of my most valued possessions, I absolutely love it.

Oh? Is that how it's going to be? You just disappear for 8 months and then pop back in with your political opinions and we're supposed to bake you bread and give you a back rub for your trouble?
Hi.
You mean I'm not actually going to get bread and a back rub? Well that sucks. Back on topic though, I agree with reimero, I like Paul, but I also agree with pickled kitten where you don't stand a chance if you aren't Obama, Clinton or McCain.

I'm leaning towards Obama myself. I don't agree with him entirely but more so then McCain and I don't believe any one else has a chance.

Eh, this thread is still on the first page of the anarchy forum, so I think it's safe to post. And I come with pictures of the posters. First off I apologize because they are sideways, I'm too lazy to fix that right now
*IMAGES EDITED OUT, FOR SAKE OF YOUR NECKS, SEE POST BELOW* (Thanks Reland)
I also apologize because the images are massive. But hey, people wanted to see em, so here they are

Paladins are scared of strange new things, like the Idea of DPS and I would've responded to PB's image, but its not showing me anything :\

The rules are simple, One person starts with an Image, the next person posts one that beats the previous image, and so on. So Ill start, with one of the geekey-er(?) images I could think of The BFG from the Doom series Go to!

Well people coding drivers will be going head first to code new things, before vista stops supporing their drivers. It say's somewhere in there that, that happens
Wow, I just realized how LITTLE sense that made. I meant to say something like "Well people coding drivers will be going head first to code [The copy protection William Gates wants] Because if they don't windows will no longer support their drivers. Sorry for the double post, I was just curious if anyone has played around with vista and has seen any of the downfalls the guy mentions in the article.

Another thing that I'm interested in seeing is how software developers are going to react to Vista's release. Are they going to dive in head first and start coding their applications to run on the new OS, or are they going to be rather hesitant to begin coding for it?

The thing I noticed in that article thing was that Vista intentionally downgrades your system of you have any sort in copyrighted materials in a drive. All microsoft said about it was something like "Companies will need to plan to have this downgrade", which I find rediculous, I also like the metaphor the guy used "That is like taking olympic runners, breaking their kneecaps, then seeing who can hobble on crutches the fastest"

Are those instructions straight from Mac? If not, I don't think mac would approve of you doing that. They get pickey with their stuff, voiding warranties ETC. But unless the instructions are from mac, I wouldn't risk damaging the iPod more :\ that's just me though

I'm looking to buy a cell phone. So do any of you have recommendations? It has to meet the following criteria: can be used with Cingular and is a flip phone.
Also if you can think of any, I want to be able to upload "all your base" from my PC to the phone in either .mid or .mp3 format. So if you can think of any phones like that, I'd be grateful.
