Talked to the boss.  On both issues we argued over that night, I had been right.  When it came to the lieutenant and RA, both put down in the incident report that the complaint was unfounded.  My boss believes me, and he says there are some issues with group dynamics.  I'm not the first person to have trouble working with this guy.  It doesn't mean much right now, but if it keeps up, he's got to let him go for the good of the department.

I told him I didn't want the matter to reflect negatively on me or to factor into his decision regarding the officer in question.  All in all, I think I'm better at PR than most.  I've made good impressions with the right people, and I doubt anyone will try shit like this again.

Good thing too, paying deli owners for alibis is expensive.

I'm meeting with my boss in 15 minutes.  I could make trouble for the guy, but I'm letting it go.  I read throught The Trial and Death of Socrates a week ago.  I'm siding with Socrates, it's never right to wrong anyone just because they've wronged you.  I'll let Karma take care of this one.

Work procedure.  I got a package and I went to go get it myself.  I had my ID which is needed and I knew what to do, but he told me I wasn't allowed.  On this he may be right, but I don't see the harm.  I'm going to get some clarification on Monday.

There's always supposed to be a student officer in the office (24 hours a day).  Inside the office is a bathroom.  While he was out on rounds, I went pee.  He came back in while I was on the bathroom and said "Why is this office empty?"  I came out of the bathroom and said, "It wasn't, I was just going pee..."  He then says rather angrily, "You have to ask my permission first!"

The stupid thing is there are times when nobody is sitting at the desk, like when the only officer in there is getting someones package from the mail room.  I don't see any difference between peeing and leaving for a package, especially when I'm not really leaving to go to the bathroom.  I can still here the phone and the radio from inside there.

All this happened early on, by the end of the shift everything seemed alright.

Oh, and he doesn't have a room on campus.  He is a commuter.

A guy who I've been friends with since starting college is trying to get me fired.  Tonight he reported me for drinking (something that can't be proven) in an attempt to get me in trouble.  I work for campus safety.  If I were to get caught drinking, I'd be fired in an instant.

We've always had a rocky friendship.  Tonight we had a couple arguments at work.  By the end of our shift I'd thought he'd forgotten it all.  Apparently not.  At 1 o'clock I got a knock on my door from a lieutenant that works for campus safety asking if "a Captain Morgan" could be found in the room.  My friend had apparently tipped off some people that he'd seen a bottle of Captain Morgan in my roommate's fridge.  I didn't get caught with anything, but now I've got to talk to my boss to let him know that this guy has a vendetta against me.

The great thing is, I've got loads of witnesses who will back me up on this, including the RA on my floor.  I consider this nothing less than a complete betrayal of trust.  Monday morning, when my boss comes in, I'm going on the offensive to defend myself.

By the way, this board could totally use a "flamers corner."

The internet just isn't the same with out HN.  I was going through some old files and I've actually got every avatar you could pick from on HN.  It made me sad to look through them all.  Still funny that some instantly make me think "You are so gonna get your ass banned!"

Hurray!  I found my Armando thread.  It's good too, cause I'm not sure exactly where I put the copies I printed out.

You should perhaps take te effort to make contact.  Maybe he just embarrassed by how he turned out, can't really face the rest of your family, who knows?  I don't know the full story, but either way, someone has to take the first step.  It just might be harder for him knowing that he's done nothing but screw up for so long.

Oh, and on top of those Coolio Points, I've got some stashed away from HN.  I think I might have the exact amount copied into a notepad file.  I'll check my backups when I get home.  Do the points carry over from website to website?

I'm going to be honest, I was about to respond with a message about winning 4,355,002,001 Coolio Points, but that story made me sad when you said it really happened.  But I'm sort of over it now and am curious, why don't you talk to him anymore?  Shouldn't an experience like that create a very strong bond, one surpassing the normal relationships brothers typically have?  Unless there is something really holding you back from talking to him, call him up.

Was he skating?

Was he skating with friends?

Was he skating on thin ice?

Did any of his friends fall in as well?

Were ice skates found on the boy or at the scene?

Did the boy get from the town to the spot of his death via the river?

Did the boy fall into the river on accident?

Was the boy forced (pushed or such) into the river?

Was there a search to try and find him?

Does the river run from the city/town down to the bridge?

Damn!  I meant:

Was the body of water a river?

Was the body of water a lake?

Was the body of water a river or a lake?

Was the body of water used for boating?

And if so:

Did the boy come from a boat?

Did he fall over board?

If he did fall, was it an accident?

Was the one of the other things found with his body a life preserver?

Because he was surprised, does that mean his death was slow?

By "railroad-trestle" do you imply that there is a bridge?

If so, was it spanning a body of water?

Was it spanning a valley or ravine?

Edit: Never mind the train questions.

Wouldn't the cold be considered harm?

Going back to the last time I played, was cannibalism involved?

Was the boy hiding from a stranger?

Was the boy hiding from harm?

Was he in the hole to keep warm?

If so, was he surprised at how poorly his cover worked?
