Here in my state they are doing an almost state wide fitness tracking thing that my employer is paying for. You form teams and track weight, exercise minutes, steps and anything else you want. They do lots of free events and giveaways for people that report data. It's pretty neat

For me it was karate three times a week and jogging 5 days a week. Now it's baby burping strolls around the house, so at least I'm lifting a 10lb weight.
Still walk the dogs twice a day but I gotta get back to running them for one of those.

Not many people knew and I think no one I only know online did
and before he brags about it pb knew when she was born because he's in my Hackernetwork circle on G+
Both of us were not exactly model children and are expecting to be in for one hell of a ride. It is pretty incredible to hold something and think "we made this", well I contributed a couple of minutes way back in the beginning but you get the point.
I'm really looking forward to the interactive stages. I've been reading her the Jack London novel I was working on, and a paper on algorithms and data structures. Can't start too early right?

I love the people that say "Sleep when the baby sleeps" and what about a baby that wakes up within 5 minutes of being put down eh?
We have a 2 week old kicking around the house right now so I can sympathize. Right now I'm coding for my class (really, working hard) and keeping baby from fussing so the Mrs can get some sleep. Since we're doing the breastfeeding thing I'll have to wake wifey at some point but I can try to keep baby sleeping as long as possible. Still pretty new at this but we seem to be hitting some kind of rhythm where we trade off coverage. Course we can double team coverage since we only have the one.
Anywho hang in there and definitely let the the hubby when to take the baby away for a couple of hours.

I'll try to participate this year
Currently working on: 1) The Mutiny of the Elsinore by Jack London (I bought the complete Jack London for my Kindle so expect a lot of these) 2) The Mythical Man-Month: Essays on Software Engineering by Frederick P Brooks
The less well known Jack London stuff is interesting but feels really dated in some ways (his racist views for example) but in others it seems really up to date. He was very interested in what we would now call the 99% being exploited by the 1%.
The Mythical Man-Month was suggested by the professor of the Java class I just took and it actually pretty interesting. My background in college and for the first few years afterwards was in manufacturing and the essays talk about how writing code needs to develop standards for gauging how long it takes to right things and how many bugs should be considered acceptable, etc. Very dry at times but interesting. Again reading on the Kindle.

That's a relief. I was afraid to google it. I thought for sure it was something only the Urban Dictionary would define.
Well yeah there it also is where you wear the woman like a hat with her legs hanging down and you grab her ankles and....... You're right, shouldn't Google that at all.

It only takes one transformer. I don't know why but apparently it only takes one and they will take their sweet precious time fixing it.
yup, being on a peninsula probably doesn't help. Of course since I can see the coal plant from the end of my street across the water I want to get a long extension cord and a row boat.

I bought some new underwear recently that is $45 a piece. Seriously I can't believe I spent that much really.
However it is the best damn underwear I have ever worn. No binding, no bunching up, no chaffing of the groinal region, no sweaty crotch, no pulling of leg hair. It is like wearing nothing at all, but better because you don't have to worry about getting caught in a zipper. In fact I'm going to go but more right now....

I'm not going to help you but I wanted to thank you for reminding me to bring my SATA to USB cable home so I can copy stuff from my old PC to my new one.
So thanks for that
