The war was publicly due to unproven claims of (as yet) undiscovered weapons. Saddam wasn't loved by all his people, but not all of them hated him either. While some people are happier, a lot have become angry at what happened, and it has made our nations even bigger targets.

I think the recent 'war on terror' has been a bit like running around kicking over anthills. One of these days we're going to get bitten. Hard.

Security within the nation, security against those outside our borders, or both?

Exactly. That's not paranoia, si. It's logic.

Both, I guess.  I meant it in a large-scale, all encompassing, general sense.

The war on Iraq has 'proved' the point of many a wag warning about the IMPERIALIST MACHINE taking over. Apparently, the entire Iraq region is basically a breeding ground for potential members of Al Qaeda now...

Less safe.

I feel as though the war has only further enraged some groups in the Middle East, making them more liley to attack us, and has soiled our image even further.

When we actually give a crap about securing our own borders, both Canadian and Mexican, then I'll say I feel a bit safer. We're wide open from both ends, baby!

Yaeh BABY!

Remember 1812!

(p.s.-- Technically it would have been a Union Jack back then as we were still a British Colony ;-)

The  WMD were there. Now they aren't. I definitely feel more secure.

Good lord, tell me you're kidding. If the "World Tribune" were any more reactionary they would be psychic. I would rather live on Fox news.

There's a newspaper out there called the World Tribune. I saw it on their website, and they make no bones about the fact that there's a story over the weekend that the weapons of mass destruction are routinely being found, evidence of them. I'll find it here in the stack. The UN is saying this. It's not so much the weapons, but the remnants that Saddam actually dismantled and it's the dismantled remnants that have been found in various places.

Well, if Rush Limbaugh believes it, it MUST be true.

Yes. Because it seems extremely likely that when threatened the government of Iraq would ship all of it weapons to the Beka'a Valley, stronghold of Hizbullah, a Shi'a organization funded and controlled by Iran!

Yes. Indubitably.

Besides, wouldn't it be a lot easier to simply use them vs hiding them?
