Click on the big Hacker Network link at the top of that page, and it goes to this page here.

Scroll to the bottom, and you'll see links to pages with titles like Fark, Badassmofo and Something Aweful. I don't know what's going on here, but it looks like some kind of automatic statistic gathering mechanism was inundated by Farkers or Goons. Maybe it's some kind of spider that tracks most popular blogs by counting numbers of hits. I can see how Fark or SA would make the grade, but I'm surprised HN is on anyone's horizon at all.

Time to hit CG up for some deeper access into HN's bowels -- I'd like to know what kind of trafic it gets and from where.

Ah... here it is:

Last time I talked to him about that, he was doing about 2000 unique users a day. I'm not sure if that has changed since then. I'm guessing it has.

Good lord.

And I thought I wasted a lot of time doing pointless things online!

Well if it gets 2000 or more unique hits a day then that restores my faith somewhat in the human condition.  Sometimes it seems as though the non-reading kiddiots are coming out of the woodwork.

Apparently there are actually some that can, and do.
