Generally, most people are stupid, or as I'd like to call it "dense". I know this because if the place that I work at. Where you might ask,
McDonald's! You could be thinking "OMG LOL! HE WORKS AT TEH MCDONALDS!!" but it's not as bad as you'd think. Sure, pay isn't good, but you're reading this site right now, right? Bandwidth and server bills have been paid for, so shut your pie hole.
Now, on with the game. So I was working the register a little less than a week ago and it was my third time doing it. Ok, so I don't quite know
everything, but I try none-the-less. So two guys walk in from some landscaping place (believe me, if I knew the name of the place, I would not hesitate one second to name it here, and perhaps find their web site, if they have one) and the first guy orders his food. Ok, I got him all of his food, and he starts bitching that the McFlurry doesn't have enough ice cream in it. I give it
back to the person that filled it (since I'm just the register person), and he's taken care of. He goes off to the other side of the lobby and starts whining. His partner comes next and orders his stuff. It was a Number 1 (Which is the BigMac Meal, I believe) and I put him down for that. You see, this is where the problem starts. When you're at the register, you have to add the drink in with the meal, or else the person doesn't get charged for it. I didn't charge him for the large drink. After he gets his food, he goes "Yo where my drink?" and it hits me "hmm... I didn't charge this guy for it" and I go "I didn't charge you for it" and then he throws his shit fit. He goes "YO WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I ORDERED A NUMBER 1! IT COMES WITH A DRINK!" I guess he thought that he was already charged for it, and I just was trying to get more money from him.
His outburst causes both of the managers to come up and start with him. I almost started laughing because of his sheer level if ignorance to understand a simple mistake, but I figured it would not have been good for me to be laughing at someone who is a few cards short of a deck. He goes and fills up his large cup that I put on the counter while the managers where asking him why he used such foul language in their resturant directed at me. This point he's yelling across the resturant about "how stupid I am" and that I "should not be working there". (Go figure, the guy's like 25 years old and works at a landscaping place, he's the last person to call me stupid)
He walked out with the large drink which is roughly about 2 dollars. In essance he stole it.
Both managers took it rather seriously after the guy left and kept on talking about it for 10 minutes. I found it to be funny, not serious. If you throw a fit like that in a public place because someone made a mistake, you probably should not be out since humans do make mistakes.
Earlier that day I had some lady throw a fit since they didn't have Stitch from the movie Stitch, when she asked "Do you have Stitch?". Her daughter looked to be about 11-years-old.
I think it must be the area that I work in, the place is swarming with stupidity! Then again, I'm the one that misunderstood them and the customer is always right!
HINT: Whenever you start yelling at an employee of any store, you automatically lose. You can always be removed from the store for being disrupted and preventing you from working.
